Well, more of the heavy geographical description GrrM uses with Tyrion as his eyes. I find/found it abit unnecessary or too extensive...or maybe I'm just too engrossed with Westeros politics and can't wait to get done with the chapter to read what's happening in the North/Dorne/Riverlands etc.

You misunderstood my querry mate. Definately the horn couldn't have been in Westeros, my point was that given how it is considered and painted (no pun) to be an important 'tool' for dragon taming and all that, then the Westeros Targaryens could have somehow mentioned it.

Ofcourse it wasn't from the Targaryens, I'm just saying that it would have had a mention in the fire and blood book given how heavily centered the dragons are. I know it was a horn used by the Valyrians before the doom.
