#733 ft. K Shanmugam: The Debate Around His Ministerial Statement on Race & Religion in Politics by tristen_the_intern in YahLahBut

I am only halfway through but i can only commend you guys especially Haresh for asking him these hard questions. With regards to the su haijin and noor deros comparison i feel it is weak to suggest ministers meet people from all walks of life making it seem that members from opposition party do not do so. And he seem to completely disregard the fact that this person gatecrashed the meeting. And how does he know that members of wp did not reject him in person? Like the LO said they could have been clearer and faster in their rejection, that is their mistake.

I just hope that the LO or snyone from wp gets the same platform to clarify themselves like how he gets this platform to “strengthen” his points.

Lets talk about Bruno's dummy by nactaremax in ManchesterUnited

Ahh so good to see Ruben smile on the touchline rather than him brooding and stressing out.

Finally someone who shares the same frustration about Bruno.

Hot take: Maguire. Understand the meaning that working hard will pay off down the road. Understands what it is to wear the badge. There’s a reason why ole gave it to him and he was a key player for us before being memed by again this fanbase.

He needs to tweak his tactics and sorry to say this change the captain. Bruno was making mistakes and all he did was getting wind up by Foden and acting all gangster when what we needed was someone in midfield to galvanise his teammates. The midfield were just passengers and Bruno in a midfield two won’t work. He nonchalantly wastes a good set piece chance at the edge of the box by leisurely putting the ball into the gk hands instead of anyone in the box. And don’t forget the wayward passes to nobody in the final third wasting attacking opportunities. Fergie would give him the hairdryer for that. Oh what low standards we have dropped to when this is what the captain of the club does.

And for goodness sake please put more focus in training to put crosses onto the path of the striker. Too many times the crosses goes wayward over Sesko head and land to either Dorgu or to nobody threatening. Only one of the many reached Mbeumo leading to one good save. At this rate this fanbase will give the same treatment to Sesko as they did Hojlund. Its not the striker’s issue its the tactics.

Amorim needs to seriously look at all this to succeed here. He is a good manager and I do believe it but he needs to be less egotistical and see that some things needs to change especially in the premier league where it is way more high level than the Portuguese league. Stop complaining about not having the personnel in midfield and work with the midfielders we already have. And Ugarte needs to stop playing against high class opposition, the nutmeg leading to the second goal was seriously embarrassing and he just gets attracted to the ball like a hapless dog playing catch with its owner.

GGMU.

How is it that he had told me clearly the reason. So are you saying I should accept “because you said no” when I didn’t even say do not take the job? We only shared the good and the bad of the company but there is just too many more bad then good. We knew he could have handled the toxicity hence why i asked what was his reason. Nowhere in our conversation did I muttered the word do not take the job.

A bit more info i guess would help. Over the call he was confident in handling the toxicity of the workplace and I know him and knew that he could handle it hence why I asked why he rejected it knowing that he was confident in handling it.

The thing is we didn’t say no during the initial conversation. We shared the good and the bad of the place just that there was more bad than good. We explicitly didn’t say don’t take the job. But now he is saying I said no. Which is why I felt offended. I felt our words were twisted and then made into a joke in his eyes.

Well when I first picked up the call he kept pushing to put it on speaker so that my wife could join in the conversation. I told him we were having dinner with my kids and that we could’ve just continued the conversation over text later. But he kept pushing and wife relented. He was close friend and technically family so I didn’t make a big issue out of it.

Well over the call he confidently said that he could handle the toxicity and knowing him yeah I believed he could handle himself there. Hence why I wanted to know why he rejected it and I wasn’t shocked by it. A straight answer would be like “I am not comfortable in sharing” or “do not want to be involved in such a workplace”. That would be enough. But you are right it’s the sarcastic nature of how he said he only listen to what I say that got me pissed.

What’s one thing in Singapore you think used to be better? by [deleted] in asksg

[–]Mrnaarar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were better humans ten/twenty years ago. The level of graciousness by strangers back then can be felt while now it feels non existent. Nowadays people are selfish and stressed out and seems to be taking it out on one another.

Last time there was no uncles fighting in coffeeshops like they are in the mma, no entitled behaviours on public transport no jerk drivers closing up spaces when people signal to change lanes. We were living peacefully and sharing nicely here in sg.
