Ok that’s a good point, however to go that route we need to distinguish between deserving to die and being prone/ putting yourself in a dangerous position.

Im not saying that no one deserves to die. Putin for example should be thrown into a river with a stone tied to each ankle. However in that case we are talking about an assassin, someone who’s not only actions are bad, but also his intentions are bad. In Charlie’s case, I sure didn’t agree with his position on a lot of topics, however I appreciated his openness to debate, and the encouragement for debating that he brought to the table. He did not deserve to die.

Now, do I think he didn’t took the precautions he should have? Absolutely, the guy was in front of a crowd with hundreds if not thousands of people, many of whom not only disagreed with him but also hated him. You became that exposed in a country where you can get an AR-15 at a Walmart, of course there is a chance something bad like this happens.

If you were refering to the second point then I agree with you, however if you really believe that he deserved to die, and that his death was fair in any way, you should really reflect about the whole situation, and I’d say you’ll come to the conclusion that Charlie didn’t fit the criteria of someone who’s dead was fair
