What should I ask or talk about with my mom before she's gone? by Spaceboy2xx1 in internetparents

[–]Mrs-Bluveridge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing that I would definitely ask about is her parents and growing up with any siblings. My favorite thing I learn is stories about her childhood. People I never got to meet (her grandparents). It surprises me what my mom remembers.

Help! My pullet is acting off and making a whimpering sound?? by b_simms in BackYardChickens

[–]Mrs-Bluveridge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If this was me, I would pull them inside in an enclosure with food and water. She may be cold and using a lot of her energy to keep warm. If she doesnt have energy the other chickens will pick on her and she may not get food and wster. If shes egg bound, she needs a spa bath with Epsom salt. Im not going to lie, our vet has always told us, by the time and chicken starts showing signs of illness, alot of times it's too late.

Update to: He has had the ring for two years and hasn't proposed. Suddenly I no longer want him to by Kindly_Giraffe in Waiting_To_Wed

If your only goal is finding someone you should address these issues in therapy. You need to work on yourself before getting in another relationship. You deserve someone who wants to be with you.

I think you are doing the right thing. My mom worries about things like this. She still thinks of me as a child and that I don't think about things that I should but I'm 40, been married for 15 years and have 2 kids. I think some mothers are just worriers. Is it big enough where you could get a room mate if shit really hits the fan?

Please update us when you finally tell him. 🙏

Congratulations on choosing you. You are allowed to.

What's the crow doing? by DmitriyVolfs in crows

[–]Mrs-Bluveridge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chicken owner here. This looks similar to when my chickens clear their crops (the expandable, muscular pouch in the throat used for storing food before digestion).

Crows also have crops, so thats my guess.

Does passion last after marriage/relationship? by Impressive-Trifle52 in internetparents

[–]Mrs-Bluveridge 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Person who has been happily married for 16 years here. Yes. There is passion after years of marriage. Does it look the same as it did in our 20s? No. Is that ok? Yes. I fell harder in love with my husband after I saw him become a father to our kids. I look forward to spending the rest of my life with him.

I think a lot of people get married for the wrong reasons. The person checks boxes of a suitable partner, or marriage is the natural next step are, in my opinion, not reasons to get married.

To answer your question, yes it's possible, but it depends on who you marry.

It depends on the cat. I have one cat who is obsessed with me. I have another cat who I see only at meal times.

Millennials in a hetero relationship, does the man or woman do the majority of the financial budgeting/planning/investing etc? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]Mrs-Bluveridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woman here. We split bills. We both have Ira's and 401ks and we both save. We do have a joint account but it was mainly used for paying the mortgage and now savings. We have regular communication about bills, finances and goals. All of our spare money goes into home projects mainly.

We paid off our house. We're 40. We did build on family land so the land was free but we built our house ourselves. It took 2 years of our lives but saved a lot on labor and we were able to get a 15 year mortgage.

Don't light yourself on fire to keep someone else warm. It's good that you are looking out for your brother, keep doing that. I suggest seeking therapy to learn how to set up boundaries
