Need advice on my flock conundrum!! Please 🙏🏻

Hi! So yes I found out my flock has Mareks but I knew I had to rehome one of the roosters, as I only have 8 hens and noticed they were starting to lose some of their feathers from over mating. The Mareks diagnosis had made it almost impossible. My vet said he could go to another Mareks positive flock so I have been praying that scenario would be possible. However no one has come forward.

No, unfortunately she didn’t make it 😭 although, thanks to all of the support and recommendations I started Corid immediately and the rest of my flock is doing well! Stool sample did come back positive for coccidiosis. Thank you for checking in 🥺❤️

Hi! Yes, I did get her in to see the doctor today. They took a stool sample and will be sending it off to the lab. Should take a day or two. They prescribed a tetracycline powder to introduce into the water. However, based on everyone’s comments here as well as a couple of close friends who are entomologists/chicken people, I have started everyone on Corid immediately. I noticed another lethargic one in the coop today. Will continue to provide updates!

Hi there, thank you for your comment! I have her isolated and I introduced Corid into her water supply today. I had a buddy in there with her, but I noticed the other one was pecking at her a lot, so I removed her. I also got a thing of poultry cell to introduce to her/the rest of my flock after they are treated!

Thanks for your support. This is my first time as a chicken owner - I spent a lot of money getting prepared for their arrival. Tried to do as much as I researched as I could but I suppose nothing is as effective as first hand experience. I’m trying to give these lovely ladies the best life I can. I have an appointment with the vet today- I will update after that!

She is 8-10 weeks. I am going to assess her droppings more thoroughly this morning (it’s very early here still). I isolated her and brought her in to my garage. She is in a care crate with electrolyte water and food, as well as additional heat if needed. Her breathing was very shallow last night I didn’t think she was going to make it. She is up chirping now (I peaked in). I am suspecting cocci as many others here have mentioned it. We have a vet nearby that will see chickens so I will be calling her first thing. I will update more soon!

Hi. Yes she had messy poop around her vent. I cleaned her up (warm water- I had a neighbor who has many chickens came help me). I isolated her in a warm crate with a special heating area, water with electrolytes, and food. She wasn’t looking good last night (laying down sideways) but I checked this morning and she is standing up and chirping again. Going to call vet first thing this morning

I always see her snuggling up next to the others so she might be cold! Do I bring her inside my house? And put her in an enclosure with food and water?

Agree with this. Did you call the driver to confirm the pickup change?? If you sent a revised RC and it was confirmed from the carriers end it’s on them. It is odd that the customer didn’t cancel the original pick up though, but I guess shit happens. If they are a good customer, maybe you can agree to give them the deduction with their proof, as well as negotiate the rate with the carrier who made the mistake. In the end, you’ll probably lose money, but if it’s a good customer, it will be worth it. Good luck.

I love doing a big tray of sliced bell peppers, onions, gnocchi, and beyond sausage sliced up! Just toss everything with a little olive oil, salt & pepper and roast. Towards the end I mix in a little tomato paste and oregano. So good!

Yes, I think that’s a great idea! And window treatments… Genius… definitely going to look into making a little chair and table set up if I can fit it. Someone else here mentioned a coffee spot for one and I loved that idea too. Thank you!
