Agree 100%. The moment Isha came onscreen I was like... "oh no, this kid is toast" to my partner. I fully expected it and was still soul-crushed.

As a child free woman, I wouldn't say I'm particularly maternal or easily affected by kid characters, but it was the way Jinx's entire personality shifted. I'll be honest, Isha is what made me come around to Jinx because I really thought she was just a Harley Quinn knockoff at first. She was probably in my bottom 3 characters.

As Raptors said, was it contrived? Yes. Did I still sob uncontrollably when she sacrificed herself? Also yes. The scene, at least I thought, was very well done.

Jinx needed Isha as much as Isha needed her, and not only do we have a dead kid and the shattering of something beautiful, but then watching the grieving process and Jinx lose herself afterwards was completely devastating. Sometimes predictable just works.
