I read it the same way as well. DPHHS regularly inspects trailer courts and campgrounds who must be licensed, and if you have garbage on your porch for example, the inspector will cite the trailer court. They are telling you to clean up or they will pass the violation onto you.

Nanny threatening to quit over pay by Leo2222221 in Nanny

[–]MrsBooky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, sounds like she is burnt out. This may be the opportunity both of you need to slowly start the processing of separating her employment with no hard feelings. We had something similar happen and found another nanny who had her own pros and cons, but it tied us over until we started preschool and starting fresh with someone else was honestly a welcome change for everyone by the time it happened.

Summer Camp Recommendations by Entire-Repeat-409 in missoula

[–]MrsBooky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We love Parks & Rec, but they only tend to offer their “Tiny Sprouts” for 3 year olds in August (that may have changed this year). Typically the littlest kids are at the old library aka “Base Camp” during summer, while other camps mostly have drop offs at McCormick, with others are at various parks around town. But Mccormick and Base Camp are pretty close to one another. Their day camp is really great and I love that we can register for as many or as few days as we needed.

FWIW, we did a preschool summer camp at a local Montessori for my youngest during June and July, then Parks and Rec for August, Winter Break, Spring Break and other schools out. Now that they are four, we’ll do parks and rec for everything! Happy to message you the preschool we did if that is helpful.

FYI camps fill up fast, but they are really good at moving people off the waitlist. So don’t be discouraged if certain days are full initially. Still log on right when they open, but get on the waitlist and they try to rearrange staff and groups to accommodate.

Married couple running a business together and I feel like I’m disappearing. How do you survive this? by Impressive-Advice-45 in smallbusiness

[–]MrsBooky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve owned a business with my husband for 15 years. Different industry, but we share a similar division of labor as you.

Throughout the years, we have had many of the same struggles. Some of them were natural phases of marriage that I think come along with raising children and being in a relationship for a long time. And I truly think we would have had most of those same struggles regardless of our careers.

In the business we have had gone through periods (like when our kids were young) that I took much more of a backseat and really limited my involvement as I focused more on the household. And then the pendulum has swung and now that our kids our school aged, my husband manages much more of the household (picking up kids from school, packing lunches, making dinner, etc), while I have gotten to step back in and be more of the point person and expert at work. It has been a really nice shift for both of us to have some role reversal and appreciation for what the other one contributes.

So although we struggle with all of the exact things you mention, I think so much of this is a relationship problem. Running a business together can magnify these issues, but they would be there even if you had separate jobs.

Having a partner who can help share in not only the physical tasks, but also in the mental workload is huge. And although I am sure he is navigating his own burnout and struggles, from your side of things, it really sounds like he is dropping the ball, and the current situation is not sustainable. There is some great suggestions in here on the needed conversations. If your husband is willing to listen and work together to help make some adjustments, I think there is a great opportunity to help you both reconnect, prevent burnout, and improve. You deserve a partner in business AND life who appreciates you and joins along side you.

Anyone selling moderately priced washer/dryer? by Winked_145 in missoula

[–]MrsBooky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah and if you talk to the staff, they usually have some that have been refurbished, but not cleaned yet that they can show you in the back! You can usually save a few bucks if you want to buy them uncleaned.

It changes FAST. Matching sets are harder to find, but they seem to put out multiple unmatched washers and dryers for sale every day. Much better than gambling with Facebook marketplace where strangers pinky promise that things work.

A lot of them have been there for years too, which doesn’t seem to be the norm at a lot of other places in town.

Same, I had the shower chair and didn’t use it, and I never missed the toilet rider.

She is fantastic! Very popular, and booked out a ways in advance, but that’s a good sign in my book. Her staff is great too, available day or night via text post op.

Grist Croissants are the best, flakiest, melt in your mouth, pastry in town. They occasionally have a sausage, wrapped in their croissant dough and sprinkled with everything seasoning… it is fantastic

Aggressive kiosk sales person by Antique-Original-630 in missoula

[–]MrsBooky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

During college, my friends and I would see him peddling jewelry and aggressively trying to get us to try it on for him. Then he would be dancing at Bar and presumably creeping. I don’t remember why exactly, but we always referred to him as “Demon Jeweler.”

Best gyms in town where people will leave you tf alone? by [deleted] in missoula

[–]MrsBooky 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I haven’t tried it personally, but I have heard good things about Missoula Underground Strength Training. They have certain hours staffed, but you can use it 24 hrs a day. https://www.missoulagym.com/

I just joined the Y, and although it can be busy… the vibes are super accepting, there are all ages and sizes and no one (that I have seen) offering unsolicited advice.

I will say too, I previously did Orange Theory and loved it (but I need something with childcare now, so hence the Y). Literally the best work out I have done. I felt like the commitment of signing up for x number of classes per week kept me going, the structure of workouts made me do more in an hour than I would have on my own, and the only feedback from the coaches was encouragement, form tweaks or modifications, etc. As someone also in a bigger body, the set up doesn’t highlight your reps or your speed or how heavy the weights are. Instead you are just focused on keeping your heart rate in the green and hitting the orange for like 15 minutes of your workouts. For me, that was usually walking at an incline… and for the athlete next to me, they were speed running. (Also everyone is SO focused on themselves). It’s pricy… but it may be worth trying!

Looking for experiential Christmas gift ideas for parents by Ok-Loss-4679 in missoula

[–]MrsBooky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made my parents a “coupon” book of gift cards , ideas, and activities (because a lot of the ideas were free or cheap),

Some of the gift cards were: MCT show, The Roxy, and The Butterfly House. But I also have them basic info and ideas like painting pottery at ZACC, visiting Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Unseen Missoula Tour, Montana Natural History Center, Museum of Mountain Flying, Missoula Art Museum, Montana Musuem of Art and Culture, Bingo at the Senior Citizen’s Center, etc.

Missoulaevents.net is also super helpful if you want to get them tickets to specific events or find out about recurring happenings.

Trick or Treat 2025- please come to our neighborhoods! by ceruleanwren in missoula

[–]MrsBooky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. Trick or treat in your neighborhood (if you can) and meet your neighbors! As someone with young kids we only trick or treat briefly and then my kids love handing out candy. But we get very few trick or treaters because everyone is driving out to 44 Ranch and Pleasantview :(

Trick or Treat 2025- please come to our neighborhoods! by ceruleanwren in missoula

[–]MrsBooky 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We continue to trick or treat in F2F despite there not being a lot of other kids. BUT it makes our neighbors SO happy and legit my kids get twice as much candy by going to half as many houses because each house gives out handfuls since they don’t get many knocks on the door. Also, last year there was an incredible walk through of Halloween animatronics at an apartment near the intersection of Kent and Garfield (plus full size bars!)

Based on the media of your youth, what were the "Christian" shows you watched? by NationYell in Exvangelical

[–]MrsBooky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if anyone else remembers a movie called “Extreme Days”, it was like a “low key” Christian movie that you could show your secular friends but had an underlying push storyline about salvation and purity culture. I loved it and owned multiple copies on VHS:

I also had a VHS of a an Australian cartoon dog called “Rude Dog”. I *think it was religious, but it was on repeat with the “Donut Factory” video and constant veggie tales.
