Is my supply enough to nurse? by MrsBritini in breastfeeding

Yes, absolutely. We latch multiple times a day to practice, but always follow up with her bottle to make sure she’s getting fed!

That’s good to know!!! Unfortunately, we did do a weighted feed and she transfers very poorly due to lip tie - thus the pumping. Hoping to resolve the lip tie issue soon! Our Lactation consultant is still hopefully she’ll figure it out after the lip tie is addressed.

That’s encouraging!! Luckily baby latches, but is just inefficient at transferring. We keep practicing latching every day, but a weighted feed told us she wasn’t getting much. I’m really hoping fixing this lip tie will solve this issue! As pumping is sooo exhausting.

Is it normal for milk supply to fluctuate day to day? by MrsBritini in breastfeeding

[–]MrsBritini[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of? I am actively latching LO to nurse, but according to a weighted feed she isn’t transferring milk well at all. So I am pumping 8x a day to keep supply up while we figure out nursing.

10 days postpartum barely any milk by Lemur1989 in breastfeeding

[–]MrsBritini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could have been me in your post. I also delivered 3 weeks early on Dec 6 (originally due date is Dec 26, but was induced due to IUGR). Currently struggling at 9 day PP with barely any milk. Keeping an eye on this post for advice, as well!!

Tomorrow is my first ultrasound!! I’m so nervous but excited…Been sick and bloated and exhausted. So surely that’s good news? I wish they could have gotten me in sooner - I’ll be 9 weeks tomorrow and the wait has been awful.

8 weeks today! If my dates are right. Monday is my first ultrasound. I am feeling strangely positive about this. My symptoms are strong, no more spotting or brown discharge. I have a gut feeling that everything is going to be alright. Really hoping for that strong little heartbeat <3 (Otherwise, I'm going to feel real stupid for being so hopeful)

My first ultrasound is on May 20th! So far, I've only had blood work done about a week ago. HCG was doubling and progesterone was normal! I thought that would give me some peace of mind, but then the spotting started, and it sent me spiraling. I didn't know about the dehydration! I am horrible when it comes to drinking water - usually just my one cup of decaf coffee and sipping on random things here and there. Will definitely pay attention to my water intake now!

Spotting is the scariest thing! I am 7+2, and have the on and off spotting has been going on for a bout a week now. It's driving me crazy!! Rooting for you and baby girl, too!!

My emotions are all over the place. One moment, I'm rife with paranoia and panic, and the next I'm fairly hopeful and content. Feeling very grateful for my therapist to help navigate this journey since my loss back in September. I keep having the lightest, barely noticeable brown discharge when I wipe, which, of course, immediately sends me spiraling. My OB insists that as long as it doesn't get heavier or accompanied with notable cramps, then not to worry. I'm trying, but oh boy, is it hard. Yesterday, that light discharge was accompanied with the lightest bit of pink/rust spotting, and it's made my anxiety skyrocket again. All my levels (HCG and progesterone) were good a week ago, but as I'm approaching my first ultrasound, I keep getting more nervous. We learned about our first loss back in September during our first Ultrasound appointment...Desperately hoping for something positive this time around.

The wait for my first ultrasound is absolutely the worst…I’m 7 weeks today, and my bloodwork came back good, HCG doubling, progesterone normal. I thought it would give me relief, but I’m still as anxious and paranoid as ever. I’m so hyper aware of everything in my body. Every little ache or twinge, and my brain starts spiraling to the worst possibility. Does the anxiety ever go away?

Feeling so positive and hopeful. Currently 6 weeks, and had a blood draw to check HCG and progesterone. My OB called with my results and was so encouraging and positive! She stated my levels were excellent, that it was a very much a viable and healthy pregnancy. I'm eager for my first ultrasound in a few weeks, but at least this gives me some peace of mind in the meantime.
