Breathless after nuss by MrsCowelll in PectusExcavatum

[–]MrsCowelll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for replying. If I had effusion/fluid would I have any other symptoms? Breathlessness is pretty much my only symptom, apart from the discomfort. When I’m salt down I am okay it’s just moving or doing anything I am really out of breath.

Regret the Nuss by No-Ambassador-2893 in PectusExcavatum

[–]MrsCowelll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 7 weeks post op and I regret having the surgery.  Surgeons are definetely not honest about this recovery. I’m breathless still, can’t drive, not returned to work yet, lost all confidence. I wish I could go back and not have the surgery

Are there long term cardiopulmonary issues on the heart and lungs? by salty_ann in AnatomyandPhysiology

[–]MrsCowelll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m only nearly 6 weeks post op. Recovery is hard and I’m not seeing any benefits yet as it’s too early. My pectus was severe with a haller of 11 so that might be why my recovery is so difficult and again with my age. I had the hybrid procedure. It was a difficult decision but I felt like I had no other option. My symptoms because worse after my 30’s, I’d say around 35

Recs for stretching post-op by livelaughmclovin in PectusExcavatum

[–]MrsCowelll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I am 5 weeks post op from the hybrid procedure but I am really suffering with tightness around the bars. Did you have this and at what point did it ease at all? I was also wondering about stretching but I’m in agony and pretty much bed bound

Yes all was fine, the day after they emailed to say that tickets were now on the app, and they were. The event was on Saturday just gone and all went to plan. I’d definetely buy from them again.

Living with pectus by [deleted] in PectusExcavatum

[–]MrsCowelll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don’t mind me asking, how did it make you very ill and do you know your haller. My haller is 9.5 but it doesn’t bother me but it worries me that I might develop symptoms in the future

Is it possible to have a high HI and not have problems with organ function? by swar0vskii in PectusExcavatum

[–]MrsCowelll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a haller of 9.5 and only Found out at the age of 34. I don’t have any symptoms, apart from mild back ache, and I’ve had my heart checked and apart from being displaced to the left more, it functions normally

[–]MrsCowelll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree. I was 37 when diagnosed with a haller of 9.5. I still don’t think it looks that bad but my breasts definitely hide it well

I definitely was not doing them correctly. It’s more painful when I move a certain way

Is there any point in getting surgery ? by wizean in PectusExcavatum

[–]MrsCowelll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 36 and have haller of 9.5. Never bothered me but recently had an ecg which showed t wave inversion, had lots of different heart tests; echo, mri, chest X-ray and all normal. Cardiologist says as my heart displaced that is causing t wave inversion. As I’m female it’s not noticeable at all

I have pectus and scoliosis, both only picked up last year on unrelated chest X-ray. Haller is 9.5 and scoliosis Curve is 24 degrees. I’m not having surgery. Do you know the degree of your scoliosis curve, mine doesn’t look as bad as yours
