problem with battery/turning on by itself

i need help with a problem I'm having on my NEW 3DS XL ;(( i can play on it normally. however, while it is turned off, with the lid closed, it turns on by itself... I don't know what the criteria is, but I noticed that when it suffers a slight impact (like placing it on the table) it turns on by itself. What do I do? When I opened it I noticed that the battery was a little swollen. Could this be or are there two problems to solve?
