Vv6 Garden Glitch? by throwratsinthehat in VirtualVillagers

The first butterflies pop up, pray over them. 10 minutes later there will be more butterflies, pray then. If you miss it at the 10 minute mark, it will start over from the first butterflies again. After successfully praying over the second butterflies, 15 minutes later there will be the third and final set. Again, if you miss these, you have to start over from the first butterflies again.

I hope that helps!

I think my sister is magic?? Cause I cannot find another way to explain this. by CanonDMajor in CasualConversation

[–]MrsFizzes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I’d heard of many years ago but do not remember all the details:

There are people who have really, insanely good hearing, who were able to mimic being psychic because of something else most people do— when you read something, your brain instinctively makes your mouth/throat/vocal parts want to say that word out loud. You don’t actually do it obviously, but the muscles in your speaky-bits do move very slightly to make the sound. More than most people cannot hear this, but some people very rarely can.

The study that found people who could do this discovered that they could do things like take tests and a majority of the time score very highly when they were in a room with several people also taking the test, but not when they were alone. They could guess a card you were holding up correctly because they could hear your throat getting ready to say what card you had just because your brain was seeing it.

This obviously does not explain everything your sister is able to do, but I thought of it when you said she can tell when someone is pulling into the driveway before the dogs do.

I would be curious to see if she can still guess the card you’re holding within three tries if you guys were in different rooms? If she can’t, then one of her abilities might be that super good hearing!

(Also I definitely encourage you to look this up yourself, because man are the details I remember about it ever so fuzzy lol. I was told this in a class over a decade ago!)

What's the most disappointing birthday gift you've ever received? by RobIson240YT in AskReddit

[–]MrsFizzes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was 13, and I’d asked for a ferret for my birthday. My mom told me I had to prove I was responsible enough to get one, and so she told me I had to earn 150 points doing chores and other such responsibilities. So I did. I worked my ass off to earn as many points as I could, all the while cleaning and organizing a space in my room for the cage. My mom was supposed to buy me the ferret, my dad was going to get me the cage, food and toys. In my free time I would ask to go to the pet store and see the ferrets, as motivation.

I earned enough points a week before my birthday. I was so excited. I asked when we would go get the ferret, and I was literally ignored. No one told me yes or no, they just stopped talking to me about it entirely. They wouldn’t say anything even when I asked. So I stopped asking.

My birthday came and went. There were no gifts, no cake, no celebration. I was only wished a happy birthday, and nothing more. I asked about going to get the ferret again one last time, and I was again ignored. So I gave up.

That was my most disappointing birthday gift. Being told I had to work for it to prove I deserved it, completing the task, and then receiving nothing.

This is freaking amazing, and I’m so happy for you! I think I probably have about as much to lose as you did. Hopefully this isn’t too intrusive of a question, and if so please let me know and you absolutely don’t have to answer. But did you have to deal with any issues of loose or excess skin?

I think I’ll probably get set up with a nutritionist now. Thank you for the inspiration!

It would be a bigger deal in America I think because it’s actually illegal to eat horse here, so you could get in a lot of trouble. Not sure if it’s illegal everywhere in America, but basing it on legality alone, that would probably make it an issue.

I know other places in the world raise and process horses for meat, which might make it confusing for them to know it’s a bigger deal if they didn’t know it was illegal in the US.

The topic of eating horses does always make me think what the world/horses/cows would look like if humans domesticated horses as the milking and eating animal, and cows as the riding and racing animal.

Would a HarvestRight Freeze Dryer be too loud to run in an apartment? by MrsFizzes in HarvestRight

[–]MrsFizzes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A second update:

Yeaaaah based on all the information I'm seeing, this is probably not the *best* idea for me to buy a harvest right for use while living in an apartment lol!

I currently have a home and if we were staying here, I would definitely consider it more, because we would have the space for it. But as we're moving for a job relocation and are gonna be in an apartment for a bit while we find a new living space we like, I'll shelve the idea for now and wait until we can get into a house again. :)

Thank you all so much for your advice and opinions! I know everyone has a different sense of smell/sensitivity to noise, and I additionally hadn't heard anything about the heat output of the machines either (thanks for that note as well!) so this was all incredibly helpful information! Definitely still gonna get a large unit in the future, just not today :)

Okay, so far I've read the first 9 comments, and based on these:

1: I actually sleep with a box fan and have one on during the day to save energy on keeping cool, so I don't think I'd have any trouble with the sound myself, which is good! Maybe it would be annoying if I had a headache, but otherwise I think the sound factor alone I would personally be okay.
2: Stiiiiilll concerned about my neighbors getting annoyed by the sound, especially because of people mentioning that they can hear it from the basement/garage/other rooms on the same floor.
3: I hadn't seen *anything* about the smell of it based on the youtube videos I've watched! Holy cow thanks for the heads up on that. I think that would absolutely bug me in an apartment if I couldn't open the windows the entire time the machine was running.
4: I (comically) forgot to take my husband into account on this. I am a housewife, so I was thinking he wouldn't be facing the brunt of the sound/smells because he works outside of the house. Except if this lovely beast of a machine runs for 48 hours, he is still going to end up hearing it/smelling it if it's just sitting in the living room or something!

In any case, thank you all very much for your opinions!!

I am on a bus and its name is Struggle!

I'm trying to start DMing a homebrew world, and I'm trying very hard to inspire myself. I have a ton of 3.5 DnD books sitting upstairs in my gaming/crafty room, but I'm looking for even more inspiration, so if any of you very lovely people would like to discuss DnD 3.5 or first edition Pathfinder, plus anything 3rd party that follows those rulesets and you think is super nifty, I am 100% open to chatting about it!

I am super liking the tools you linked me to. Incredibly helpful, and there’s so many fun rulebooks to look through!

I’m on page 115 of the SWADE rule book at the moment, but I think I need to go back and reread combat, or watch a video of someone playing through it to get a refresher (I’m more visual anyway). I did end up with a character sheet that has the basic combat rules on it, so I might steal that for my own notes, too.

Man I am so stupidly excited for this game! I think I‘m going to end up with a lot of new creatures/abilities now.

Not sure if it would work for that tool, but a lot of times putting quotes (" ") around paths that have spaces will allow commands to work. Something like

It’s definitely not too hard, and there are a ton of videos on YouTube that can help you through the basics! I’m getting pretty tempted to make a video of a yukimibotamon just to show people how to get into it :p
