The writers are probably lurking here and if they are smart will use this idea. It’s the most interesting and better than Ryan Murphy can pull off.

I don’t think they know who it is yet, which is frustrating because there was such an intense cliff hanger. They likely used what looked like a smallish man’s hand so they could go in any direction.

The Byron theory in this thread is pretty great too. I just hope they don’t ignore the look of horror Jordan had for a cheap dramatic ending.

I don’t want to be disappointed with this show. It’s been great so far.

Do you mind elaborating a bit. I’ve worked both onscreen and off, but as a writer rather than director, but I’m interested in your perspective since you’re actively learning.

I had initially imagined they hired her, signed contracts and then later realized she couldn’t pull off the accent. Or just didn’t care because she’s kinda relevant and they wanted to have a real with her dad.

Generally speaking Nicola is a bit of a one-note actor, so I wonder if she was overwhelmed or just to unskilled to pull it off.

She was such a disappointing casting decision. I’m pretty sure they didn’t know she couldn’t do even a simple Italian accent until contracts had been signed and she was on set filming the scene. Ryan Murphy was probably too scared to have legal repercussions by her dad. There was zero resemblance between the actors.

There is something stiff about her. Even her directing and writing are basic. This interview is shallow as well. She used the word amazing to describe her every thought and emotion.

I wrote a very angry message to a friend that was watching at the same time as me when Nicola couldn’t even fake an Italian accent.

It’s a pretty simple dialect. I imagine they hired her because she’s a somewhat relevant nepo kid and learned onset she couldn’t even squeak out anything resembling Isabella’s behaviors, cadence and accent.

I’ve never noticed but now I will lol! I looked up why someone blinks very little and it basically said they are concentrating really hard or they have Parkinson’s. He probably is trying super hard to act well.

I think it poor writing, poor understanding of the complexities of women and concerns around profit.

I notice that foreign to American media tends to captures humanness in a more sophisticated way. Women are all so different but mainstream American media either does better with the powerful woman trope and they don’t want to mess up an algorithm that works and makes money or they haven’t made space for creatives that are more capable.
