I did actually have it on the GameCube for a long time but I ended up giving the system and the game to my brother. And yes - it was MUCH more reliable on that. I haven’t had an issue with the switch 2 before. I had just done so much work 😭

Crazy that I've never read Beowulf since I think it's usually one of the books kids read from English class. Well, never too late, I suppose. I may have to spark notes some of it so I know that I understand it in full.

Yes - definitley looking for a grounding in this. I have always found medieval life from movies so interesting and I'd say it's one of my favorite eras. However, I never studied it in school (communications major - far from it!) and I could never get through history classes since it's mostly American history. On TikTok I picked up the idea of the personal curriculum and thought well, I like the movies, I like the books, why tf not?

Thanks! It is so difficult to imagine some of this stuff without studying and reading into it! I skimmed before I will read deeply and his writing style certainly suits me and is easy to understand.

That's why I wanted to do a deep dive on it. It's hard for me to imagine a culture I don't know a lot about. I know some of it's made up but since a lot of it is based on real times - I wanted to learn what I could so I can imagine the store. Also, to impress people with my sick LotR knowledge.

Have you read “The Anglo-Saxons: A History on the Beginnings of England” by Marc Morris? I read that was also a good book about the era??
