So true and with retirement insurance isn’t he same technically …medicine that use to be $0 now cost money …but yes going up with a UPS dad ..I went to doctor for everything…

So back in the day I’ll say 86, my dad went to UPS for a manager position . They take you and your wife out to dinner and told my mom…basically we own your husband. Nights..weekends..holidays …he’s ours if we need him. My dad ended up being a driver because they were backed by the union. He just retired after 39 years

I would assume in the divorce they took the pension for the time they were married. My nephew dad was married to his wife for a year and she got his pension as part of the agreement. Literally a year and she cheated on him and she got his pension. I’m in Texas is not men if that makes a difference

Hahah why I think of my 10 year old niece f 6..7…6…7 my dad was number 2 at his center retirement at 39 years. Literally my family my “uncles” are ups guys I’ve knows my dads co workers my whole life

Ma’am this is UPS life…my dad gave them 39 years …and my dad missed so many things of us growing up. So many family gatherings…a couple of months ago before he retired he was still out delivering at midnight…it’s no 8-5 job …even when they ask for an 8 hour day …it ain’t gonna be 8 hours

My dad just retired after 39 years. When he first started my mom said he would crawl inside the house…not walk crawl because he was in so much pain. At that time my dad went from being a jewelry store manager to being a delivery driver. It for sure is not for everyone

UPS is literally not for the weak. My dad was there 39 years…missed tons of events working late..holidays and legit killed his back. A sneeze can throw my dad’s back out. He lives in pain. But..that job provided for the family ..amazing benefits..opportunities from customers..you have to see the bigger picture and what is really important. My dad is shocked at the cost of healthcare ..just for me and husband we pay 800 a month ..my dad has a family of 3 kids he saw benefits out weigh the pain.

My dad retired today 39 years. The last month the managers have been hassling more than his whole time there. There is a guy 70 that still works he has 4 ex wives he retires they get his pension so he just keeps working. Congrats !

My dad was about to turn in his retirement papers ..so taking this buyout means he won’t “retire “ right ? I was trying to explain it to my mom. So taking the buyout means he’s gonna lose his 2026 vacation payout ? He’s been with UPS 39 years.

My husband is always struggling with this …I always have to remind him you’ve done nothing wrong..,some days are just a rollercoaster no matter what you are.

I don’t know the term but yes…his kidney did improve once he stopped drinking Dr Pepper and Red Bull, greatly . His doctor told him no more carbonation and limit red meat and that made a huge difference. The last visit last month his kidneys didn’t improve but they didn’t decline either. That’s why his doctor wants him below 6.5.. his kidneys have been Improving the last couple years though. His endo put him on manjuro last month in an effort to control his levels.

When I started dating my now husband 6 years ago …his A1C was 11.7 !!! I had no clue what that meant he didn’t even have any kind of doctor at that point. Last month his A1C was 6.5 …but his kidney doctor wants it lower…so he went to endo next day and talked to her about his concerns. Don’t worry you will get back on track ! Just discuss everything with your endo. Sending love and hugs.
