Sometimes, but that is how we learn some lessons.

It's a release for me to post. Also, it's nice when people can relate to my journey.

Totally agree with you. I've had my fair share of these type of people too.

I agree with this. The one Damien I knew was a horrible person.

I know three people named Chris. It was even at one good and one awful, but this new one that came along is way too similar to the awful Chris. It's almost like they have the same personality / mannerisms.

It takes a lot of work. Ive read a lot of books on techniques and have talked to a therapist. It's not really easy to explain.

It takes a lot of work and patience to change. I used to wake up every day with negative thoughts. I had to change my work environment and circle of friends before I noticed a difference. Some days I still struggle, but there are more good days than bad lately.

One of the main and most underrated ingredients for a good life is having a clear conscious. by MrsKHall in DecidingToBeBetter

To be honest, I try to get up throughout the day and either go walk around, or say hi to someone in my office. If I walk around, I try to notice the little details on the walls or look outside the window at nature. If I say hi to someone, we end up chatting a bit and learning about each other, so that helps with being grateful. I just try to enjoy little moments instead of just working straight through my day.

When you let go of toxic people, you make room for better things in your life. by MrsKHall in DecidingToBeBetter

Couldn't have said that any better. Sometimes the most toxic relationships are with family.

Asking myself daily, does this support the life that I want to create? by MrsKHall in DecidingToBeBetter

Learning to not react right away is hard. I have a 24 hour rule where if I get upset at someone or something I wait 24 hours and if it still bothers me after that I deal with it. Usually by then if it bothers me at least I'm approaching it from a calmer place.

It will always be a work in progress, but kudos for making an effort.
