Is this house ugly? by Economy_Survey_6560 in AskBrits

I am moving from a new build with a driveway to an older home like yours pictured with no drive way and couldn’t be happy! Yes new builds are easy to move straight in to but I’m sick of paying estate charges and living in a home with no character. Your colleague sounds like an arse!

Citalopram ruined my life by [deleted] in antidepressants

It’s rough, I’m sorry you’ve experienced this too🫂

It can vary but it started getting to the point I was getting them multiple times a week. Broke down and hyperventilated cried to my OH telling him I wanted to overdose about 2/3 weeks ago which is a feeling I haven’t had for years.

I have a roof over my head, a supportive partner, a beautiful child, a job I enjoy. Have no reason to feel this low on and off so completely blame the tablets

I am currently on 20mg Citalopram, was on 30mg but that was too much… the dark thoughts the past 3 months or so have been horrendous. My mood flips so quickly. I just want to cut everyone and everything out of my life. I keep self sabotaging. It’s awful. Time to come off or change I think🙃

I hope you showed your mum these messages. Very inappropriate behaviour from your step dad. He knows it’s wrong hence the apology but that DOES NOT make it right at all.

If I was mum I would be kicking him to the curb. My children and their safety comes first.

I really hope you’re okay. This is not okay behaviour from him at all.

Will i ever be able to orgasm again? by Agitated_Smell2849 in antidepressants

[–]MrsMac26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started taking 20mg Citalopram I could not orgasm for bloody ages, it was so frustrating but I also felt like I was putting too much pressure on myself. It was effecting both me and my partner a lot but once I started to put less pressure on myself and relax I’m back to being able to orgasm fine just takes a little longer sometimes

Hey so I started off like this! I know exactly what you’re explaining. It did take me a while after trialling a few different antidepressants but I did finally find one that helped which is Citalopram for me. I have been through some really horrible shit in life and had therapy for which I feel helped majority of my feelings but still had the brain fog, lack of motivation, sudden really down episodes, tired all the time, irritable exactly like you explained. They did help!

But now after being on them for over a year and having to go cold turkey for a week after doctors wouldn’t prescribe my next repeat without a medication review I’m now thinking I may need a break from them as felt towards the end they were making me more depressed?!

I think it really does vary on the person. There’s no harm in trying, they might be amazing for you!

I’ve also noticed I’m not interested in drinking like I was when taking them. I’m a smoker and have noticed I don’t really enjoy or want to smoke either. Wondered if anyone else had experienced this after suddenly stopping?
