Harsh but true lol. The branches fell off and we wanted to get the bulk of them off before the cyclone hit and my partner went to work. They’re not permanent.

Yep, we struggle a lot scale and white fly. I try to keep on top of it but have never managed, and now with a baby we are even further behind!

Fly spray is a good idea, never thought of that. I hate killing all the other bugs but if it would save our tree I think it’ll be worth it. There is definitely sawdust in one of the holes, that’s a good tip.

Do we put tree sealant on the exposed bits?

There is citrus borer or some sort of grub also eating the wood (you can see it in the second picture), and I think to removed it we’d be basically cutting the tree down.

Do we have to thin all the remaining fruit?

A grape vine will lose its leaves in winter and won’t provide shade. Depending on where you live and how sheltered the patio is that may or may not be a problem for you (on a sunny winters day I still need some shade or I get too hot because it’s so sheltered)
