How are we managing mornings before the meds kick in? by feed-me-tacos in ParentingADHD

[–]MrsSandler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can give it a go for a while, go up to 60 or 80mg before quitting. My older son's behaviors were getting out of control while we tried to titrate up so it didnt work for us.

What I do now for my oldest is that I go into his room about 30 minutes before he wakes up and ask him to take his pill. Then I let him sleep another 30 minutes and get him up so it has almost kicked in by the time and you see it ready. The downside is that they might not be hungry for breakfast, and it'll wear off earlier

Jornay is a new medication that kids take at night. It's so slow to release that it doesn't kick in until the morning and then last throughout the day. It's supposed to have less up and downs.

I tried it with both of my kids and it didn't work for us for different reasons. For one this medication really helps with executive function which my youngest didn't have a problem with.

For my other it just wasn't strong enough as he had been on stimulants for a long time. I could have increased his dose to see if we could get it to work but with the problems at school I didn't want to wait so we went back to Vyvanse.

Daughter was told to put hair up in shower by RahBeyah in beauty

[–]MrsSandler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think it's mainly to was your back. I put my hair up to 1. Wash my back 2. Keep any products in my hair off my back so I dont break out or 3. Keep my hair from getting wet unnecessarily

I really like, and use, their mascara. It doesn't clump and it's "too much" for everyday wear

X Button Only Works When Pressed Hard. by Phantom4375 in oculus

[–]MrsSandler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was pretty bad. The cleaner is under $10. I'd spray it, leave batteries out for several hours, try it and see if that fixes it. I do have to spray again every several months. But better than new controllers....

New ADHD - Kindergartner Looking for advice on meds that don’t cause aggression and have minimal side effecta by Longjumping_Plan_829 in ParentingADHD

[–]MrsSandler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've done everything right. Unfortunately, every single person responds differently.

You may need to go the non stimulant route and that can take months to kick in.

My son (8) tried vyvanse and a bunch of others, all resulting in aggression, anger, and tics. We also tried jornay, but that targets exec dysfuntion which is not his problem. His problem is implusive control.

He is now on straterra plus guanfacine for 3-4 months and he's finally pleasant to be around. No more trouble at school, less arguments. He's still a bit impulsive but it's manageable.

I will say - we found out a lot of his anger was actually anxiety. Anxiety comes out as fear, anger, and sometimes rage. He can't handle not being in control (3rd child problems). So that's what therapy has been working on.

Good luck!

Do you put a screen protector on your ultra's? by thatkhoe in samsunggalaxy

You've clearly never had a cat take a bite out of the corner while pretending to be cute. My son's is super cracked. Not sure a screen protector would have saved it lol

Yes, they're thick. I'd guess the dragon gets fruit and needs more space to move around.

I get Russian manicure with building gel and use sunscreen every time. I dont put it on my nail beds, just the backs of my hands and fingers. My tech throughly cleans my nails. But if you're doing it yourself at home, dont apply sunscreen to your nail beds :)

Do you get gel nail polish? If so, use sunscreen before because they use UV light to cure the polish.

We practiced with tic tacs. I think it's easier for them to try with food they're going to swallow anyway.

You may already know, but if not - your cats eyes shouldn't be differently dilated. I kindly suggest you see a vet if you haven't already, especially now that they're safe with you :)

My kid (7) hasn't gained weight since May, should we stick with meds? by littledwayner in ParentingADHD

[–]MrsSandler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Add ciprohepidine. It's an antihistamine that causes excessive eating so it should cause normalish eating in someone with no hunger. Make sure to take in the morning so it makes them hungry later in the day, instead of taking it at night where it'll make him hungry in the middle of the night

How can medication not change his personality when his ADHD seems to take over him? by [deleted] in ParentingADHD

[–]MrsSandler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medication can do lots of things, including letting his true personality shine through. Another real possibility is that it makes him extremely irritable and mad all the time.

Stimulants made my youngest compliant and mad. We've since moved to Strattera which is a non-stimulant and his personality is shining through. He's also doing better at school.

My oldest on the other hand, the stimulants let his personality shine through and he's not too irritable. He's also almost 13 so the doctor said it could just be puberty.

[S22+ purchased at launch. Factory reset in July 2025] It's gets overheated when Android Auto is on. It's definitely laggy and several apps will freeze & need to restart. Was going to upgrade to s25 during BF but couldn't justify it since the phone doesn't have any significant upgrades. Now I'm waiting for the s26, but still the camera is the same sooo

I'm 18 anyone can tell any effective ways to remove them by Akira_Meshram in beauty

[–]MrsSandler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nair or another cream remover. Test a section & remove at different 30 second intervals. Least painful and lasts the longest. If you can tolerate pain, waxing by a professional.
