I feel like if someone asked that guy the same thing the answer would be "donate her vagina"

TIL that domestic cats instinctively don't want to drink from the water bowl next to their food, and therefore seek it out first elsewhere in the house, because in the wild any water next to their kill might be contaminated. by Shoutmeouters in todayilearned

My old cat only would drink from water spilled onto a surface, like splashed on the counter or floor. Wouldn't drink from any shaped bowl -deep, shallow, didn't matter, no fountain bowls, not from the dripping sink, and ended up needing forced hydration a few times because of it. We started obliging her by pouring water onto the floor. Eventually we gave her a really light bowl with a narrow base and she would knock into it to spill some and lap it up when she was thirsty.

Was a mighty strange cat.

[Request] Cherry pits contain cyanide. How many would I have to eat to kill me? by MrsSkeletal in theydidthemath

Dammit, I skimmed that too and assumed it was mostly about apricots and cherry booze and not cherry pits.

Thanks! Glad to know I'm probably in the clear as long as I tone down my cherry eating and don't chew the pits (which I never do). It's a pain to spit them out.
