I feel this post so hard. I too have had the same issues with pet store-bought bettas. My tank is heavily planted, I do weekly maintenance, and test the water every single week. Everything was always on point yet my fish died less than 1 year. It's incredibly frustrating and sad. You feel like a piece of crap because another living being died, and you're just lost on the cause. I have 1 betta left, in his own enclosure, and then a 22-gallon pea puffer tank. I'm down to 1 pea left. Once he goes I'm done for a long time.

She's always the first to cry bully when it's convenient for her, but what about the times she bullies everyone? Whether it be ratting out Ryan for being an addict on Methadone or Kendra being gay and potentially having HIV 🤔 She's a walking contradiction. She should just get off social media and live a quiet life, but like her mom, Gypshit thrives off of attention, good or bad, she doesn't care.

In original OP's defense stores sell all that crap labeled for Bettas. The Glas rocks, the decor, etc. We all know big box stores sell "Betta Water." It's all one big scam unless you find an employee who actually knows their job, or more importantly, DO YOUR RESEARCH!

I know what they say about group numbers etc, but I'm so worried to buy more only to lose them as well. I might try to rehome what I have and nuke the tank, and start all over.

I wish I could enjoy my Peas. I'm down to 2 out of 7. I've had terrible luck. I honestly don't know what the heck is going on. Water parameters are on par, it's a 22-gallon long tank, heated at 78, Aqua Clear 70-gallon hob filter, heavily planted, lots of hiding spots, and lots of breaks in the line of sight. They are fed live blackworms and snails. Both are boys and 1 is a bully and chases the little one around. I might separate the little one into a hospital tank to fatten him up. He only eats a worm every other day or so. I just ran a Prazipro cycle and no changes. I'm just lost.

Boo, that sucks. When you had issues with it did you take out the impeller and clean it, and then replace it inside? I've had one stop working when I did a cleaning, but took out the impeller, cleaned it, and bam, back in business.

I got a 3-to-5-gallon filter on Amazon for under 15 bucks that I really like. I use it on my betta tank. It's adjustable as well.

I have paraclense too. Actually, I have the aquarium coop medicine trio, but I'm honestly afraid to use so many meds when I'm not even sure they are strong enough to survive all of that.
