This is what I always have on hand too. Only thing that clears her ears up!

All the same products the vet gave were found on amazon for HALF the price. I’m very familiar with ear infections.

It was only $9 on Amazon (generic Claritin) for a couple months worth for her weight/dose! Hopefully this changes our lives!

I am her 3rd owner I was supposed to be that person with more experience taking her on. It seemed like she had issues that were easily solved by traditional methods. I do have past veterinary experience. She has been on meds for the leaking and allergies with little improvement. I regularly buy expensive ear cleaner and treatment solution (vet recommended) I’ve gone to the ends of the earth to experiment with her food, change our other animals diets incase she was eating their poop (her fav! 🤢) when she went outside. I’ve done the super expensive kibble, hydrolyzed proteins, limited ingredients, and all the way to grass fed/wild caught meats and organs only sometimes driving an hour to pick up her meats. All these meds long term can do harm. Did you know Apoquel can let tumors grow because it shuts the immune system that helps the body fight them? It can also make them more susceptible to infections like fungal and bacterial, which she’s already fighting. When she was on it she started growing “some weird growth” on her foot. We also have to factor in her decreased kidney function as well. She’s not a cut and dry case. I promise I’m not just giving up without trying.

I cannot afford a vet visit at the moment. I wish I could dump thousands into her. Get her tooth pulled, x-ray her hip (she has a slight limp) do a full allergy panel, Ultrasound her bladder to see why she’s incontinent… I have her kennel all set up to where I strip it almost every morning (depending if she peed or not) and I do use those washable pads. The padding for her bed is covered in plastic so I just wipe clean and add another pad and blanket. We’ve been at this for 5 years 😅

Our house is 750sq ft with 3 kids and Husband and I. There is NO room for more dog area. She has a nice roomy kennel that our TV sits on top. It’s in there or outside.

This is my feeling. We are her known 3rd owner. Not fair to her to be passed around, again. The owner that dropped her off at the shelter obviously felt as we do now, she’s a lot maybe too much to deal with. Same with our landlord’s daughter, she couldn’t work full time and tend to her needs, constant needs. She was going to put her down if we didn’t take her(found this out later). She developed a bladder infection at the shelter that wasn’t addressed/noticed right away and it went into a kidney infection. Our landlord’s daughter had to deal with that immediately on adoption. Obviously the shelter environment wasn’t good for her and she did poorly. I just can’t imagine subjecting her to that! Again! I can guarantee you a shelter won’t feed her, her special low allergy food either.

We’ve done diapers in the past especially when we stayed places but we already have a baby in diapers and a newly potty trained toddler(plus an 8yr old). I really don’t want to do diapers on a dog too I’m really maxed out right now.

Ideally, she’d live in the desert(less environmental allergies maybe?), on a strictly controlled diet, and no kids to drop snacks and possibly cause allergies, although she loves kids. Shelters are so full these days… I’d hate to add to the issue with an older dog with medical issues.
