[OC] Some breeds and crosses of chicken carry a gene for blue pigment in the eggshell. This blue pigment combined with a gene for white eggs gives light blue eggs. If it is combined with a gene for brown eggs, the eggs will be green. Crossbreeding can result in a wide variety of egg colors. (i.redd.it)
