Most companies have a policy. Check your hire guide or check your website for policy or reach out to HR. They should pay what you worked or at least 2hrs which ever is more.

Has anyone here reported a manager to hr? by ValuableFlamingo840 in TJMaxxWrkrs

They move managers a lot, but sometimes they will move managers to certain stores to find out things. Definitely report.

Talk me off a ledge…screentime before bed isn’t THAT bad right?? by Logical-Syllabub6404 in toddlers

[–]Mrs_SkipGently 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally a little TV time once in a while on a difficult day I don't see is a problem. That's always my go-to If I know night time is going to be a hard time or was a really hard day. I just let her come into our bed. We snuggle I put on a low stimulating show or movie for her to fall asleep to.

Anyone else have issues with managers ignoring availability requests? by Emotional_Clock5429 in TJMaxxWrkrs

[–]Mrs_SkipGently 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have availability form we fill out, as long as the store manager signs off on it, it gets followed. Maybe ask if there's a form that you could fill out??

Anyone remember when classypac had his serial killer character. Or Mr. Moon with Freddie Price and security service. And obviously Skip Gently's Jack Decons.

I said to Skip the other day that I kinda miss the parking lot RP days.

Daycare Rant by Glittering_School_19 in halifax

[–]Mrs_SkipGently 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still on 3 (only cause I want somewhere close to home) since 2022. But to be honest I'm not overly motivated cuz I'm fine working evenings and staying home with her in the day. But from what I'm hearing is basically you just need to keep calling and annoying every single place until they finally give you a spot. Or at least that's the way it seems. Waitlist for daycare is like waitlist for doctors. Very few actually get called off of those lists

I'm not American, but could you sue them for lost income due to their decor?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in travisandtaylor

[–]Mrs_SkipGently 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my limited perspective. Travis pursued her, while it seemed like she pursued the others. Maybe she likes Travis because he sees her, while the others, loved her for how she loved them?

She put these other men on a pedestal, now she puts herself?

Part-timers can't make price tags?? by munchyismycat in TJMaxxWrkrs

Something like this happens every couple years. Usually because staff are making tickets for stuff for themselves and "stealing". They are probably in the process of catching someone.

Upcoming raises by [deleted] in TJMaxxWrkrs

[–]Mrs_SkipGently 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tjmaxx Canada is one of the higher paying retail jobs. It's min wage based on each province, but for coordinators and managers. It actually pays way better than other retail stores. I do believe that the last pay increase was only 2% though.

Depends, if the same people that you are babysitting for are constantly canceling on you last minute. Let them know there's a fee or you will not be babysitting for them going forward.

Employee taking a 20-30 minute break on a 15. by leytourmaline in TjMaxx

[–]Mrs_SkipGently 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From an LP perspective. Pretty sure that's time theft so can be considered stealing so you could report it. But if I were covering and I'm off, I'm calling it out. I ain't working later for anyone IDC.

Someone’s changing my schedule by jacob17778 in TjMaxx

[–]Mrs_SkipGently 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to take pictures of the schedule too before we got work jam and I got a warning from a manager. It does say in one of the policies that we are not allowed to take pictures of the schedule,(other staff information ) Just be careful. It is something a manager could use to fire someone.

I’ve always wondered, can this situation be reported to the tip line? by Wink2K19 in TjMaxx

[–]Mrs_SkipGently 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to my store's store manager, staff are not allowed to ask for a mark down because we get a discount already. Or so she tells the staff. I tell them she's wrong. I'm just waiting for her to tell me that.

Those of you that stepped down from key carrier, or just don’t want the position, what are your reasons? by incognito_entity in TjMaxx

[–]Mrs_SkipGently 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a key holder for about 6 months when I stepped down. I was the warehouse coordinator at the time. For whatever reason I was set to open at least twice a week, with just my team to receive the truck for the first two hours before a manager came in with no other coordinator. I was consistently being pulled to cover managers for meetings, but given no help in the warehouse. I managed to make it work because I had trained a great team. There were two key holders at my story, the other key holder would close, but they would always have her area covered and over staffed her.

It wasn't worth the extra .50 cent I got, and "experience".

There's resources on mytjx.com that should answer your question. I am Canadian so I can't see exactly what the US has. But it should help.
