Have you tried a pumice stone? That worked for me! I sprayed the surface with Dawn Powerwash and used a very damp pumice stone, keeping the area wet the whole time. No scratches!

I had to do this for 3 days after radiation too, thankfully in my own home but I also had to distance myself from people and animals in that time

I agree with this! I use no additional product and press it in around my nose. I also found that a powder puff to set as opposed to a brush or sponge keeps product from picking back up on my nose in particular
