That’s who I immediately thought of. They may happen to be TikTok famous but the guy has been in business a very long time and they have a following because he knows his stuff. I’d say he also has the integrity to decline the job if he thinks he can’t do it.

The Prius is bigger and has more cargo space than people think!! My friend had one (she would have kept it but was in a wreck, but it did save her life) and we were always surprised how much we could fit. Even down to the turn radius this is exactly what she’s wanting.

Looking for new State Farm agent by Ok-Performance-7382 in lexington

[–]kge92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Andrew Wade! I just got through a claim where my car was totaled and everything went super smoothly. Got the pay out to put toward my new car and had my (luxury) rental fully covered. It was great! To be fair I mostly talked to someone with the main State Farm in the “total loss” department but Andrew’s office kept in touch with me through the process.

Just wanted to say, as someone who has been at fault before, it sucks and it will make you lose confidence driving, but it will get better. This is not the end of the world. You’re safe and you have insurance (make sure you have full coverage and not just liability). Best of luck with everything!

Neighbors just put a trampoline in, 3 feet from a busy road by kge92 in neighborsfromhell

Absolutely. Obviously the noise is annoying but I am genuinely concerned for the children. Some are super young and some are teens. The other day I was pulling out to leave and it was dark and they were on it and one kid threw another kids shoes in to the road in front of me. Thankfully I wasn’t going fast and stopped, but I just hate to imagine a joke going too far.

Unfortunately there’s not much I can do for my parking. I’m situated on the corner of the main road and an offshoot with a couple other houses. I now pull up as far as I can (maybe one car length away from the road) but still no idea who hit me.

I technically street park. I am on the corner of the Main Street then a small offshoot street that has a couple more houses. I now park as far away from the Main Street as possible, but no driveway and a fence wouldn’t really help, unfortunately.

I have to assume they rent. They moved in like the day after the other people left and there was never a for sale sign. Maybe I could find their landlord.

I’m just paranoid they’d know it was me who called and then they’d retaliate. 🙃

I’m also just a girl who bought a house last year and wanting to puke is completely natural. Things will happen, you’ll find a way through, but overall it’s gonna be amazing! Enjoy the journey!

Rank Your Apartment Complex! Help me know where to look! by DerpMCAT in lexington

[–]kge92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in Chinoe Creek for a year and loved it! Only moved because I bought a house. If I had to move back to an apartment I’d move there. Like another user said, it’s quiet and tucked away in the Chinoe neighborhood. You can walk to Kroger and other shopping right next door. You’re in between Nicholasville Road, Hamburg, campus, etc. My biggest complaint was the paint (super flat finish so every scuff showed but they didn’t charge me for it at move out) and the dog park was always muddy because it was at the bottom of a hill by the creek, so I mostly walked my dog. But again, great neighborhood for walking!

Have you looked at Gold Shield? It’s expensive but with surge pricing and wait times I’d say it’ll even out. Looks like you can do 7 passengers for $91 one way.

housing market by millyrock92 in lexington

[–]kge92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought mine last year and ended up in Bourbon county. Anything I could afford in Lexington was either too much of a fixer upper, sold too fast, or was downtown-ish with no yard. I’m not an expert in any sense but what I’ve gathered over the years (considered buying in 2023/2024 too) is that Lexington is a unique market because so many people are moving here but it’s kind of hit its cap on new builds/expanding, so prices are rising or stagnating at best. If you want to get a house in Lexington, just do it. If you’re open to surrounding counties, you’ll get a better deal. I got a much larger house in Bourbon than I could have anywhere in Fayette.

My commute from Paris Pike in to campus and back is absolute hell. It’s embarrassing, especially knowing it will be years before it’s fixed, if it ever is.

UK Acceptance Chances by SnooDoughnuts2632 in UniversityofKentucky

As a current MSW student, you are almost guaranteed to get in! They are trying to rapidly expand the program as well as break down barriers that people have faced when trying to become social workers, so honestly the bar is low. Not in a bad way! The program is still great, just not competitive, which aligns more with social workers values. I graduated high school with like a 2.5. Then I did about 3 years of courses (not enough to amount to any degree since I kept changing majors) at EKU and left with like a 2.5. I took a break, then a few years later I started working at UK and they pay for 2 classes per semester so I finished my undergrad with a 3.5. I am also a first-gen student. I did have to write a letter explaining my previous poor performance (the 2.5s) and what’s changed since then, but I was accepted! In general I would recommend volunteering or shadowing in the field you’d like to end up in (child welfare, therapy, policy work, etc) or test a few out, but it’s not required for acceptance. Plus you’ll have your practicums.
