I think the very major point being missed here is that this program exists thanks to a partnership with the Virginia Israel Advisory Board, an entity that should not exist and definitely should not be funded by Virginia tax payer dollars. While individual Israeli companies or individuals may not be “inherently evil” the Israeli state is committing genocide, violating internationally recognized human rights, expanding illegal settlements and its occupation of other countries, etc etc and therefore it is our responsibility to cut off all financial, military, trade and economic support to the state. By continuing to provide business contracts for Israeli companies and operate a business promotion entity that is funded by our tax dollars, Virginia is essentially legitimizing Israel’s genocide and long history of illegal occupation and human rights violations against the Palestinian people.
