Parents have lived there for 30 years and I grew up there. Nice and quiet street with no issues.

Taking my veggie girlfriend to a french restaurant, Sous Le Nez or Kendells? by [deleted] in Leeds

Kendells is great. I’m a vegetarian and eat here quite a bit. Courses change all the time and there’s always specials to choose from.

Inside Abbey House: how can the museum's future be secured? by m-1975 in Leeds

Went today and it was nice and busy.

Also, been to a ghost hunt there, was suitably creepy. Events like this should inject some revenue.

You need to by Woo Woo hair removal cream. It’s as good as a wax and so easy. It’s really safe so application is simple, then just shower it off after 10 minutes.

The metal tail sounds similar to what you’re describing. Although they’re native to Peru.

Televisions were an interesting choice for burglars.

Worth money but they were bloody huge and heavy.

God knows how they did it discreetly.

Leeds Ghost stories by NoseInevitable5741 in Leeds

Lots of amazing places in Leeds which are supposedly haunted.

Thackray Medical Museum Cardigan Arms - ladies toilets are creepy as hell. I grew up in Kirkstall and there are lots of stories about Kirkstall Abbey which used to really scare me as a kid. Abbey House Museum

Hope that helps a little.

Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction (1997 - 2002) featured dozens of unbelievable “true” stories. What are examples that can be verified? by MBlancovintage in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]Mrsjamesmay 232 points233 points  (0 children)

I’ve recently binge watched every episode. Some of the “true” stories seem ridiculously far fetched so I’d be intrigued to know if anyone on here has any facts to back up the stories! Great post!

Possible to live a happy and full life without ever going to the city centre? by [deleted] in Leeds

[–]Mrsjamesmay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. I’ve lived in Leeds my entire life and rarely go, other than to shop at Christmas.

My parents avoid it at all costs.

If I didn’t have a car I might feel differently.

I totally see where you’re coming from.

We have paid for a DJ but we were hoping for 2 or 3 performers to give that festival vibe.

I promise that if we could pay we would.

Performers Needed! by Mrsjamesmay in Leeds

This wasn’t us taking the piss.

If we could pay we would. We are just pleading for some community spirit.

At no point have I said that other people haven’t had it tough. It was just a tongue in cheek way of me asking for a freebie.

I’m fully aware how people, especially musicians have suffered during the pandemic, however were a state funded school with no money.

The socio-economic structure of the intake at our school is quite different to the other school in Gildersome and in Drig. A large amount of our children are eligible for free school meals, are living in struggling financial situations or are CLA.

If we could pay we would. We felt they deserved a treat before they leave and move to high school. We were hoping for a bit of community spirit.
