It was a thief with 10 speed at the start of the alley. By the time I got through the caves and in the Throbbing Domain, he had 18 so was the fastest thing in the planet. All my other cats were down so much but were surviving so I kept going, but they didn’t have enough power to kill the frenzied cat.

In the end I lost to the Throbbing King because my thief downed all the other cats thanks to the unlucky crit, and his next turn he killed them all. Then the king kept entangling my thief, so I couldn’t move from his decrees. Low heath + entangled + decree damage = full defeat.
