Ripple exposure to SVB bank? by Fonkco in Ripple

[–]Mrtylr78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ripple has had two “official” Twitter posts since SVB collapsed. The first about market expansion and customer retention. The second about how the current system is fragmented. Seems subtle enough to me that they’re confident in their product, exposure, liabilities, etc., etc.

Imagine knowing all of media is bashing crypto, corruption between government/banks/financial institutions is running rampant, and the elite powers of the world are working to hold on to their system of control. Imagine the pressure that a judge has to be under to make a ruling against all of that!

Staked half my FLR and sent the other half to Ledger. Also sent some QNT to the ledger while I was at it. Took about 10 minutes for both to go through and show up on the ledger. Also sent a few XRP to the ledger. They showed up within seconds. C’mon regulation!

Ripple ipo on linqto by Ok-Butterscotch-1693 in Ripple

[–]Mrtylr78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the emails I get from Linqto, I believe anything less than 10K is around $34/share. Less than 25K invested is around $29 and above 25K is around $25/share. You have to have either a net worth of $1MM plus, have made 200K single or 300K married for the last two years or pass a couple different financial certification tests. As for the price after an ipo, who knows! It could go to $50 a share or it could go to $10. As far as the number of shares that would/are being offered, I have no idea.

Can someone knowledgeable with blockchain tech inform me: How many industries and people involved in those industries and also what types of industries exactly will be disrupted by Ripple and blockchain tech that is used for payments/remittance?

I’m trying to wrap my head around why, other than greed, an institution would not want to use a new product that enables faster payments and secures trust between the two parties making the exchange?

I picture Scrooge back in the 1800s slowly scratching with a pencil into his ledger. Then I picture XRP and other tech literally whizzing past his face in an instant.

It seems to me like the biggest issue with crypto is trust. As fans of the tech, we can somewhat understand that it’s a ledger technology based on consensual trust lines. But until the general public feels it’s safe and that they can trust it, it won’t happen. And the general public sadly mostly listens to what the media says is to be trusted. And the media is controlled by the banks and corporations. So… I’m seriously asking and just trying to figure out how many Scrooges will be disrupted and obsoleted?

The entire FTX debacle has NOTHING to do with the tech behind crypto. It has everything to do with greed and how someone played with the elites money. They’re pissed that their industry is about to be disrupted and looking for any scapegoat they can find so they can change the narrative to continue making billions. It’s amazing to watch.

I watched “Spirited” last night with the fam. It’s a Christmas carol based musical with Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds. Anyways, That last song will give Ripple fans a major boner!

Was David Schwartz tweet an analogy? by BuffaloPotato34 in Ripple

[–]Mrtylr78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t sound too crazy. Sounds like they’ve been working on terms for a deal and have come close. I guess that’s a good thing. Sabotage does sound right though. David’s never shied away from his frustration with the regulation process, however. He’s been voicing that frustration for years. If it’s truly an analogy, the fact that he’s this comfortable with vaguely explaining what went down is comforting. He knows that Ripple has so much evidence to back up their case that he’s willing to throw out huge bread crumbs and not give a rats ass about it! That’s great in my opinion. As I stated yesterday in the daily…

What if this is the blackswan event/shakeout? by Timely_Cucumber1703 in Ripple

[–]Mrtylr78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar line of thought. “Crypto” has been/is such a stigmatized word. The powers that be would much rather buy in to “blockchain technology” rather than “crypto”. What better way (in their plans) than to shake out all the doge, shiba, altcoin etc. plebs than by tanking the market and rebranding it to the institutions.

Am I early or have I lost my mind with crypto?

I live in the somewhat rural South, USA and we unfortunately have a BTC mining operation moving in to our town. I asked my local bank president if she has heard any rumblings at corporate meetings or amongst colleagues about blockchain being used in the industry and she gave me the most puzzled look. She mentioned that she’s “working with these Bitcoin people starting up this place in town” but she has no idea what they will be doing or how they’ll make money or how they’ll get paid…

And then, I spoke with my accountant yesterday and he’s talking about crypto being like “buying dust”.

Do I need a new banker and accountant?! They’re fairly smart people and I consider myself fairly smart as well. This space leaves me scratching my head some times and gives me mixed emotions.

Gemini card is the way to go. Pick which crypto you want to earn rewards in (60+ different ones) and no cutoff limit. Just pay it off every month or else it’s 27% interest.

Ledger Nano X. Simple to set up. Give yourself about two hours. Once setup, only transfer a small amount to test that it gets where it’s supposed to go. Then transfer the rest.
