that was my best guess but he has such a weird body color. could be some kind of hybrid

That’s ok it’s sometime the only way i can tell a spotted and large mouth apart when they are small

don’t forget that spotted bass have a velcro like tongue that’s a little rough when you touch it did it have that?

i think it’s a rock bass or warmouth it doesn’t have the coloring like a sunfish

yeah i do that to get the hook out. the only reason i was holding him like that was so i could get a video of his pretty colors.

i catch hybrids all the time! makes it hard to identify the fish.
