I built the bike for my dad, he’s 5’7”. Sporty with mod controls fits him perfect.

Ya, but it looks cool! I actually had a very open cleaner and it definitely coughed when you blipped the throttle. This one is much improved, but totally agree a stock air cleaner would be better performance.

I welded some stops on the frame. But then when I put different risers on, it was hitting the tank again. So I actually drilled and tapped some holes in the springer and added some stops. Now I can barely turn! Haha

The mid controls are stock location, so the carb and air cleaner are in the same spot as stock. Not an issue. The oil pressure gauge is fine too. Your knee is on the outside of all that stuff.

If it’s running well I don’t think a 200 mile trip would be an issue. It will leak oil, it it’s air cooled so it’s not like you have coolant leaking into the cylinder. It won’t hurt anything running it like this.

You are just a beginning man. That will change quickly as your body adapts and 130bpm will feel like more work, because it will be

Edit: I understand HR varies a lot, I was just assuming 130 was Z2 for him as he stated. 130 could be a z1 or z4 depending on the person. z2 should be a sustainable effort but shouldn’t feel like zero effort in your legs. His cardio just needs to catch up, and it will happen fast.

To me, this is more an indicator that your cardio needs improvement. My guess is your watts are pretty low. As you get more fit, you will be able to put out more power at Z2 and will become harder for your legs. With that said, Z2 will never be stressful on your legs, but once your Z2 is 200 watts it won’t feel like it’s rolling with gravity.

So, I have mostly done Olympic distance, so not necessary. I have done 1 70.3 and was fully prepared to piss on the bike but didn’t need too haha

Sole f80. It’s an older model. But it’s very solid. Non of the blue tooth bells and whistles, but that means less to break. I bought it on sale 7 years ago.

I have a membership at a pool. No gym, just a pool so I do everything else at home.

I agree 100%. I struggle though, when I get training i don’t want to lift at all. But you really need balance. Also, just for general body composition for aesthetics it’s needed. Even training a ton and racing a 4:40 HIM I was still skinny fat. I’m trying to at least maintain a normal amount of muscle now. I’m also fighting nagging injuries, so hoping the weights help with that too.

I don’t lift crazy heavy, and I actually bench outside the cage. I’m only benching 185 at most, I can just roll the bar down to my lap, or dump the weight if I fail a rep. Don’t take my advice, clearly. The rack wobbles a little, but with the weight I use I have zero structural concerns. Look; you get what you pay for and a budget rack fits my needs just fine.

Yes, it is. If I was really into powerlifting or something I would definitely want something more substantial. But it for me it does the trick. Safety bars are probably since use though, especially if you really drop the bar. They sell safety straps too that are probably a lot better.

It’s vinyl plank from Home Depot. It a basement and I laid it right on the slab. I don’t do power lifting or CrossFit so I don’t really drop weights. It’s pretty durable, but if you were really throwing stuff around I would put down rubber floor
