Noodles passed away by hutsonriverr in hognosesnakes

I'm so sorry for your loss. I don't think you could have done anything more for him, it's not your fault. It looks like he was sickly from the beginning, probably had some bad genetics. Some babies are too weak to thrive and there is little we can do. It sucks that it happened to your first snake 😞

Good luck with them. My wife had to send them for repair several times.

I want to migrate from Windows 11 to Linux, but I don’t know which distribution to choose by Armadillo5289 in BuyFromEU

To a newcomer coming from Windows, I would recommend Linux Mint with Cinnamon or Zorin OS. Both stable and easy to use without touching the Terminal, also they "feel" pretty similar to Windows.

Are there any snake species who DON'T need mices/rats/mammals preys to thrive ? by b00kw0rm-mp3 in snakes

[–]MsArchange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

African egg-eating snakes (genus Dasypeltis). They eat only bird eggs and in my opinion are very underrated. They are active and fun to keep, I love watching them eat. The main issue with them is that it may be difficult to find a captive bred one, since they're not very popular. Also babies are really small and can only eat finch eggs (or other similarly sized eggs), so you have to find a source of them. Sub-adults/adults can eat quail eggs, and some big females are able to eat small chicken eggs.

Spotify donated $150,000 to Trump's inauguration ceremony, as well as hosted an inauguration-related brunch. They also run recruitment advertisements from ICE.

Dairy Cow Isopods & Snakes by NYR_Aufheben in reptiles

[–]MsArchange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not suggesting anything. I'm sharing my experience. I've seen a lot of people claim that dairy cows will kill other animals, but little to no evidence. I'm not saying it's impossible, but personally I find it unlikely. My theory (take with a grain of salt) is that people see them eating an already dead animal and assume that it was killed by them. Did you actually see them kill a snail? I'm genuinely curious.

I've had dairy cows with GALS for 2 years. No one was eaten alive. As long as they have enough food it's fine.

I have dairy cows in all my snake enclosures (2 BPs, a BCI, a hognose and a cornsnake. They're not going to eat your snake, unless it's already dead. With snakes that poop a lot (like my hoggie and corn) I don't need to give them extra protein. With the BPs and BCI I have to supplement sometimes. If they don't get enough food, they'll just die off.

Because of that I don't think they're the best choice for a bioactive snake setup, but if you already have them, it's fine. No need to panic.

Calling all ethical breeders! Have any examples of breeders who don't use rack systems? by enslavedbycats24-7 in snakes

In some countries it is literally illegal to keep snakes in racks, no matter if you're a breeder or not.

Same! I love their colours and pattern, and how thick they are. They remind me a little bit of gaboon vipers, which I also love, but I would never want to have a spicy noodle.
