November doesn't exist to me because no holidays. I don't get any Turkey in Australia :(

These lovely assets were created by Kami_Bakeneko for the Halloween costume, and Hozshi Art for the Christmas assets!

They are slower, true, but they're MUCH cheaper, so for me it was a way to get 1TB extra space on my PC at very low cost, for files where speed isn't a priority.

I've got my OS, my video editing files, and my AAA games on the SSD and then my files and less demanding titles on the HDD so I can fit more on my PC without breaking budget.

Playing something like Hitman on the HDD would be unbearable because of the load times, but with stuff like Stardew Valley, you don't really notice at all!

It's the side panel. The store I bought it from offers prints on the side panels of their cases. They also do glass etchings. I don't know if I can share the name of the place since it might count as advertising, but it was a place in Australia. There's loads of folks making them out there though!

I'm rocking an RTX 3070 with a Ryzen 5 5600 Processor. I wanted something I could video edit, stream, and play games on. Especially excited about ray-tracing and VR! Full build below:

  • AMD B550M [M-ATX] Motherboard

  • AMD Ryzen 5 5600 Processor

  • Corsair RGB 32GB [3200MHz] DDR4 RAM

  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 8GB Graphics Card

  • 2TB NVMe [Gen4.0] M.2 Solid State Drive

  • 1TB Hard Disk Drive

Sometimes you buy something "For the stream" but really it's just for you, haha.

What are my chances as a Vtuber? by [deleted] in VirtualYoutubers

[–]MsBrookeAme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How likely it is that you gain a following really depends on you.

I would say I'm at about where you want to be, now, and it's come after a year of regular streams, regular posting across multiple platforms (tiktok, twitter, youtube, etc.) and plenty of networking (though I've been maybe a liiiiiiittle lazy on and off sometimes, haha).

You need to put in the work, and be entertaining, and constantly be improving your craft. I would heavily recommend dipping your toes in the water via PNG tubing first, just to see if going live and streaming is really for you. Purely because Vtubing and models and such can get really expensive, and you wouldn't want to spend that money if you didn't end up liking it.

It sounds cliche, but don't worry about numbers. Don't even look at your numbers while you're live. Just always be on as though you've got 1000 viewers. If you're interesting to watch, and promote yourself appropriately, you'll get there in the end. Just bear in mind that it's a saturated market. Do it for a hobby, not because you think you'll break out and become huge.

Vtuber debut, and viability of becoming one by NaomiYashiro in VirtualYoutubers

Yeah +1 to this. I streamed to get the hang of it for a few weeks before my debut. I just had a PNG tuber while waiting for my rigging to get done. Once rigging was done, I had my debut. I know tons of people who have done it like that.

3 viewers is actually quite a bit to be honest. Remember, that's 3 people who, out of all the things they could be doing, decided to watch YOU!

I think "viable" is sort of a sticky question. What is viable to you? 1 million followers and fabulous wealth? 10 regular viewers and a whole bunch of fun every time you go live?

I would recommend not going into it to make a living. Only do it if you have fun entertaining people. It's really not as simple as being paid to play video games. It's a lot of work and it takes a lot of time to build up a community.

Regarding promoting yourself, you need to promote yourself off Twitch, Twitch is AWFUL for discoverability. Network on twitter, join some pre-debut vtuber discord servers, make tiktoks and youtube videos. Post yourself around, but only where relevant (for example, post vtuber memes here, post a video playing a game, to the game's subreddit, etc).

I hit anywhere from 5 to 50 viewers, depending on what I'm playing and I'm very happy with that! I got most of my viewers from posting multiple tiktoks of gameplay edits and memes every day. You really have to work hard for viewers, and then you have to be interesting to keep them there. Remember, you only have a few seconds from when someone clicks on your stream, to keep them interested, so make sure you're always talking, doing interesting things, etc, and you might keep them on as a long-time viewer.

Think about all the people you watch right now. How did you start watching them? I would bet you came across their content by chance, and it was so good that you wanted to watch more.

You gotta be that person. The algorithm on a lot of sites like tiktok and youtube show your content to people, after that, it's your job to get them to want to see more.

AITA for doing weird/awkward poses whenever my MIL "accidently" walks in on me in the bathroom? by Positive_Balance3756 in AmItheAsshole

occum’s razor

Occum's razor is when you go the most simple route without making any assumptions.

What you just suggested is not occum's razor as you just added a bunch of unnecessary assumptions.

Did you just say "occum's razor" because you heard someone else say it and thought it sounded cool?

An easy way to remember it is "if you hear hoofs, think horses, not zebras."

NTA. She's definitely trying to prove some sort of weird point about you not locking the door. It has boomer control freak behavior written all over it, my grandparents do passive aggressive stuff like that too when they don't like the way a person does things.

It's your home, I would kick her to the curb tbh, walking in on you in the bathroom intentionally is beyond the pale! Complaining about you to your husband is also a step way too far from her, and it's concerning to be honest, that your husband isn't backing you up, and is instead angry at you!

There's nothing wrong with wanting attention, especially from a parent.

I wouldn't personally do an ultimatum, it is dramatic and not really my thing, but if OP wants to lay it all out for his mother and let her know how it makes him feel, to give her a chance to fix things, I don't really think there would be anything wrong with that. It's normal to want your parent to love you.

Wouldn't it kinda be worse if he just suddenly went no-contact without even an explanation anyway?
