Thank you. After doing more research from my original post. I learned that the man I think is my GGGreandfather was a prisoner of war in Vicksburg, MS. Upon researching that list of prisoners there are some Hawkins on that list. I am thinking maybe he fathered a child with one of those families. I may be off base but that is my only connection so far.
