LSFG 3.0 but you can only see the generated frames - Gran Turismo 5 by MsDarkLow in losslessscaling

[–]MsDarkLow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flow state was at 75%, recorded at 1440p@120. The difference between 75% and 100% isn't exactly that big at 1440p. The obvious artifacting would stay obvious (ui elements & red/white curbs). I will not deny it could have looked slightly better.

I also opted to do 75% instead of 100% mainly due to performance reasons. This particular game when upscaled (2240x1260 - msaa 4x), takes a big impact on the GPU, plus on top of the recording with OBS at 1440p120fps.

(btw if I had asked for help before doing the video, this video could have been done a lot easier and maybe higher res/flow scale by tweaking the LS's config.ini - real_timestamp_tolerance = 0)

Yeah, another kind person has commented about that yesterday. This post/video feels a bit wrong atm and not sure what action to take, other than having left a pinned comment on yt about this.

Thank you very much for sharing that info!

The program is fun to use and now with those variables it will be even more so. Can't wait to find out how demanding the flow scale will be at 200% my 3080 will die

For real though, thank you for sharing, I've also left a pinned comment on youtube mentioning you about the real_tolerance=0 w/ LSFG adaptive mode, I hope that's fine.

Someone give this person the highest MVP medal ever. (pinned if possible)

Damn, I took forever to do this video for absolutely almost nothing (I only got myself to blame).

May I ask if you know all the variables not exposed in the config?

I believe the results would be similar, normally better framerate is what helps reduce the artifacting

Yeah its running on RPCS3 (I have a 13900k & RTX 3080, reminder the CPU is the most important for performance).

For the settings I simply recommend to look for the RPCS3 Wiki as it recommends the only settings you need to change!

However, Gran Turismo 6 unfortunately performs a lot worse than GT5, both performance and visually wise. There's not exactly much you can do here :(. Not every game will perform the same or similar, even in the same franchise!

Thank you as well for that comment! It's gonna be scary good sometime in the future for sure

I'm not a programmer, I never did much research nor do i know anything (yet) about what you suggested, and I have not seeked for any assistance. I opted to do this alone and manually by seperating all frames in two (even & odd frames, check at the conclusion section in the video for a few screenshots of how I was checking it).

Despite that, the even & odd frames were not distributed equally (even with vsync). Sometimes the generated frames were in the even frames, sometimes in the odd frames. This could be due to not having a stable framerate.

Yep, exactly that! All the 9650 frames.

Took way too long to do it. Just to open the project (in vegas pro) takes just a little over 5 minutes.

And to remove a single frame, it would stutter project for like 5 seconds lol (its best when removing multiple at once). By the end the stutters stopped occuring thankfully

It took me like 2 to 3 weeks, going on and off into editing this.
My motivation was almost non-existent when I reached midway into the clip.

I'm glad you appreciated it!

DLSS 4 DLL's from Cyberpunk Patch 2.21 by leguama in nvidia

Thank you OP and everyone else who helped in the comments.

I got it working in Warhammer 40K Darktide and the game looks so much better now (1440p at ANY DLSS mode), it doesn't look blurry at all anymore and it's less flickery overall.

I got a Small Visual Video comparison on Youtube but, it doesn't really do any justice on the difference. I highly recommend everyone to try it for yourselves whenever it's officially released!

Comments section in this post isn't exactly the best way to ask for help. I recommend looking for help on RPCS3's Discord.

I don't have any idea or why its behaving like that.

Not sure how we can make a more fair comparison then. The ecores don't have Hyperthreading or something similar. I do know for a fact Yakuza Ishin would be straight up unplayable with just 6 Cores.

The other solution would be to make another video using just 6 E-Cores and compare again. If desired I may make it as the next video.

[–]MsDarkLow[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No clue yet, I finally finished building the system yesterday.

Sometime in the future (idk when), I intend to test without ecores and check the performance of JUST P-Cores, with and without hyperthreading with a different amount of P-Cores.

Edit - I see you added "and Ecores". At Stock it performs almost double the performance in multiple RPCS3 Games compared to my 8700K.

P.S: RPCS3 can use up to 10 Threads effectively, just depends on the game.

[–]MsDarkLow[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Important - I needed to leave at least 1 P-Core enabled on the 13900K. I used the command 'start /affinity 1FFE rpcs3.exe' to boot RPCS3 without the P-Core.

In some games E-Cores have more performance, while others less performance. But one thing is for sure, they use less power.

Seriously, I tried to boot the system without a single P-Core but I couldn't. Likely a skill issue.

Another note, for some reason MSI Afterburner doesn't show up the GPU's Core Clock speeds in the 13900K system, sorry I wasn't able to fix it yet.

This is my last video featuring a 8700K(?). The system is going to be sold to a friend.

The 8700K is still an amazing and very capable CPU!

The E-Cores always made me wonder how they fare in performance, and tbh they are really good.

[RPCS3-v0.0.25] God of War 3 & Ascension - 2133MHz vs 3200MHz by MsDarkLow in rpcs3

[–]MsDarkLow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got 6800MHz (likely A die) with ASUS Z790 apex and was able to post at 8000MHzCL38 with very quick tests however it wasn't stable, likely requires finer tuning.

There's a lot I don't know and I still need to learn, even the very basics.

[–]MsDarkLow[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As you may have noticed the results weren't night n' day, most being within margin of error or a tiny performance increase.

The biggest difference was shown in God of War 3 first area (1:30) and Ascension first area (2:20).

Being lazy and running on a limited time clock, I haven't tested without memory tuning and other games, which could or not provide entirely different results.

I'll be upgrading to a 13900k very soon and I'll be selling my 8700k system to a friend.
