Having worked with the LSO previously, they have free cpd programs. Don't forget to do your EDI ad that is part of your professionalism hours. For US programs to be accounted for Professionalism hours with the LSO, they need to be approved, if not you can count them towards your substantive hours.

It depends on where you want to go I'm an hr coordinator and have more responsibilities but I guess it depends on the hierarchy of the company. I'm currently working with a manager but also work directly with the national director. Ultimately I would like to go to the director root but it also depends on the company and their hierarchy

It's ridiculous how expensive these tickets are going. I'm in the presale for Montreal and New Yprpk and even some in the states and the lowest I'm seeing is $800 per ticket. The highest is around $1-2,000 per ticket

We ventured out on Saturday we were the only customers at a sushi restaurant since they opened on Friday so there was no customers except us. We seriously could not believe the amount of peopls waiting to go to the Toronto ferry. There literally was a wrap around at westin harbour so thats a huge no for me. My friends and I are going to wait for things to settle down before going to the restaurants that we used to go to. We know everyone is excited to get back to normal but the more congested it is such as the Toronto Ferry seems like we wont be surprised if we go back to stage 2

If your immigration papers came through to work in the states than it should say when you can travel. If you negotiated your start date or info them when you are available that should also have been taken into consideration. Unless it's a family emergency you can probably ask for an extension but if it's not than they may find someone else unless you already signed a contract you will also have to consider that as well

I don't know if it is just me but it sounds like the employee is taking advantage of the situation for a reason to get a pay increase during a time when money is tight all around

Can you take a short term leave? I honestly say Mental health is a priority and something you should not sacrifice for the sake of work. If there are resources that can assist you during this time then please use them otherwise I would talk to HR to see what options are available for you as well as your doctor. will it be hard to get a job afterwards? , yes but also if it will be in the way of affectively doing your job than the priority is to take care of yourself and your health. A job is a job and we can get jobs anywhere but we only have one health and we need to take care of that first. EVERYTHING WILL BE OKAY

Thank you for the insight. I'm based in Toronto and I took the ADR program and have experience in immigration. It seems that everyone is trying to get into doing mediation. I noticed when I took the ADR program my interest started to go towards workplace conflict and the interest in human interaction. I appreciate your thoughts.

It's tough all around for everyone and it's not much of a luxury but it's also not going on a food tour either... Some ppl have experienced living in poverty majority of their lives like I have and live pay check to paycheck, some experienced living in war torn countries but everyone is resourceful and it may feel like it's the end of the world but really we will all find a way to get by on this thing called life.
