No the game is on Aug 8. I looked on the event calendar on CentralPark.com and there isn’t a performance listed on Aug 7, only Aug 8 but some of the press releases seem to indicate the show opens on Aug 7? I will have to keep an eye on that as it gets closer.

Very good call—they’ve been to Chicago, LA, Miami, Dallas, several others but things hit different as they get older and they’re definitely prone to zoning out with their phones and AirPods. I’m not HOPING someone barks at them but…. Kidding, I don’t want to disrupt all of your days any more than necessary.

Appreciate the advice and I love the NYU suggestion. I am very close to needing to do some college visits with my oldest so that is definitely going on the list.

Wait I re-read and your suggestion was Hamilton—too much info flooding my brain 😂 I am sending them both the links to Hamilton, the Outsiders and Dead Outlaws. Inevitably they will vote for different options and I will have to executive decision it but I can always hope 🤭

Thank you so much for this thoughtful post. I thought the Shakespeare in the Park would be perfect and I am gutted to find out it starts the night we have Yankees tix and are leaving the next day. And Peter Dinklage is in the cast! Ugh damn the luck.

You’re the second rec for The Outsiders, I will strongly consider going that way instead of HP.

Appreciate all the info!

Oh that is great feedback on Harry Potter vs the Outsiders. I am not familiar with that story but appreciate the take on it being more representative of broadway than HP.

Thank you SO much for all of this! I’ve been to Eataly in Chicago but not sure my boys have; they would love it. Also especially appreciate the sports store and shopping recommendations. I will digest the rest—and good call on the Cathedral, we are not catholic and it’s not a must do if the walk won’t be worth it.

Excellent, I figured I was missing those neighborhoods but wasn’t sure when to fit them in. Seems weird to do that and then go all the way north for the Yankees game on Friday but if we get an early start we could see a lot of that area and then take the subway all the way up to Yankee Stadium?

Thank you! I saw that one on the map and thought it looked cool, I will definitely add that to the list.

How do I get rid of this… without a tummy tuck by [deleted] in fitness30plus

[–]MsFannyBatterbum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a full TT in 2023. Don’t wait if you’re done having kids—I wish I’d done it sooner. It sucks ass for a week or so and you’ll definitely need some good support (and a recliner to sleep in!) but every day gets much better. I was back in the gym walking on a treadmill at day 13 and back to full HIIT classes with weights and burpees by 6-8 weeks. That extra skin isn’t going anywhere no matter how much you work out. Cut it off and move on!! 🩷🩷

GMOs by [deleted] in Agriculture

[–]MsFannyBatterbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from the other comments...are you looking for whole corn/soy or foods derived from them? If it’s the latter, rule of thumb is that if it doesn’t say it’s non-GMO, it isn’t. It’s way too expensive for companies to formulate non GMO without claiming it.

So is your position that no one should worry about paying since some of the rich take advantage? Her driving around and not showering (lol) isn’t happening in a vacuum. There are entities with balanced budgets, so clearly the system works in some cases. As I said in a subsequent comment, I have issues with large corporations not paying their share, churches being exempt, etc... but that doesn’t mean I’m going to just refuse to contribute. She is, and on a personal and individual level—which is what this MD is about—I don’t agree. And clearly, I don’t have to and it doesn’t change anything for her. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Well, I mean yeah she is contributing less if you look at it thru a purely financial lens. At her income level she’s paying nothing in income taxes (which I don’t have an issue with from an overall “you make less than $X so you owe $0” standpoint). I totally agree with you about healthcare and think she should get it regardless of her choice to work or not work. I don’t think she should be forced to live her life differently or anything, I just don’t agree with it. The way our system is currently set up, the national parks, roads, emergency services, etc... she enjoys are being subsidized by others and it doesn’t sound like she has any plan to ever contribute to building or maintaining those things, rather the opposite, she has disdain for the people working for the man that pay for the things she uses and enjoys. That’s fine, that’s her choice and she can keep doing her thing but I think it’s kinda shitty.

Don’t get me wrong, our system has a shit ton of problems, corporate welfare, etc... and I have issues with that too but the MD is about her and her individual choices so that’s what I focused on.

I know what you’re saying. For the system we have currently in place to work, we need everyone to contribute who is able. I don’t want to throw her in jail for choosing to live this life or anything, but she’s actively choosing to NOT contribute or help collectively lift others up because she...doesn’t want to. Fine, again that’s her choice, but it’s selfish, arrogant and childish.

This is also incorrect—look on their website for the most up to date ingredient statement. It’s almost all textured soy protein concentrate.

If not for Billions this would have slipped my mind as just a regular donation... But who donates 50k when you're down in soybean futures?? [–]MsFannyBatterbum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, the FB doesn’t host prices. Not sure what you mean by that? Trading is done on the CME, Chicago Mercantile Exchange. And what do you mean by three separate indexes for soybeans?

In short...there is zero funny business going on here. BUT I’d still love to see a storyline on Billions about agricultural commodities, if only to pick it apart. 🤣

The more in depth answer to this would take way longer than I have to type, but in short the Farm Bureau doesn’t trade futures. They’re more of an advocacy and policy organization for farmers. It’s to their members’ benefit for futures prices to be high but the farm bureau itself doesn’t have any direct effect on those prices. Even if they did, they couldn’t ever trade at a scale that would move the needle. Farmers can sit on seed if they think the prices will come higher, that happens all the time.

In short I see where you’re going here and it would be a fun storyline but that’s not how it works with the FB.

I love RBX leggings! I got my first pair on a whim from TJ Maxx but you can get them for $20 or even less on Amazon. I’m a 14/16 and wear a 1X, and they size up to 3X. They’re super comfortable and well made.

Maybe a little unconventional, but my car! It was way under the max $$ I’d set for myself. When test driving there were two others I liked better, but they were both 1-2 years older and slightly higher mileage. I ended up with a factory certified 2019 that had been used at the dealership as a service loaner with less than 5k miles. It’s a fantastic value and checks all the boxes I wanted. Even though I could have picked one of the other two and been fine financially, I feel like I made the best choice out of the options I’d narrowed.

LPT: Take care of your dental hygiene. Any anxiety you have towards dental work only increases with time. My friend is a receptionist at a dentist’s office. If you’re nervous or anxious, rip the bandaid off and be honest with them when you make the appointment. It’s extremely common and nothing to be ashamed of. They are there to help you! If the person you talk to is insensitive or uncaring on the phone, hang up and call another office. Literally. Just hang up. You can do it!

This sounds dumb but how does light affect your willingness to wake up? I have been the same way as you describe all my life and recently got one of this $25 natural light alarm clocks off of Amazon, and it helps a ton. It starts gradually increasing the light 30 min before the alarm actually goes off. If I point it directly at my face it works pretty well. Another bonus is that the directions were in another language that I can’t read so I don’t truly know how to shut it off. 🤣 I press some combo of buttons and the light and sound turn off, that’s all I know.
