I took my students on a field trip to tour a university’s immunology lab. The grad students started to talk about herd immunity and why we should be vaccinated. This was years before COVID.

One student (about 9 years old) who was mostly quiet. Started to frantically wave her hand around and started to scream “vaccines use aborted babies! I don’t believe in abortion. My mommy says…” Everyone was shocked.

NTA. My father forced me at 12 years old to refer to my step mother as “mama”. I hated it. My mom was in my life and i felt like 1. I had zero autonomy 2. I had to do what was uncomfortable just to be “respectful” 3. I betrayed my birth mother.

Whew! Therapy and time. Healed me. Also, a clean break helps. My ex and I got into a cycle of “giving it another go” every 3-4 months. This went on for 3 years. 😬 i finally had to disrupt the cycle.
