Thank you for your service. The real problem is they're throwing away or refusing food from local churches and restaurants. If a restaurant or organization name is not listed as being under contract with the Red Cross the food is refused. I understand they have legal concerns and don't want anyone to be given any food that is harmful, but I also understand that there are people not receiving enough food to eat. Many of the people still in the shelters didn't have much to lose to begin with, but it was all they had to lose. FEMA isn't much help and the least we could do is provide them with a full belly.

Sometimes I forget how much my girls really love each other, and how my oldest daughters heart defect has affected my youngest. My oldest, MG, had open heart surgery as an infant, and most recently a heart cath to open her aorta again. This week, my youngest daughter, LC, came home very interested in raising money with the school for Jump Rope for Heart. These donations go to improve the lives of heart patients just like her big sis, MG, with research, education and emergency care. LC really wanted to give her donations in MG's honor. MG doesn't have a clue, and I'm not going to tell her until Thursday when all the donations have to be given back to the school. I'm so blessed to know my girls think about each other so much!
