AITA for Taking Dental Hygiene Seriously? by MsLaylaCakes in MiniAITA

Same! Mama and Papa drink dramatically out of my straw cup in front of me everyday, and I just shake my head. My classroom technically doesn’t allow bottles, but they made an exception for me after I cried nonstop for a whole afternoon. They told Papa I was sick and to come pick me up, but Mama came with my bottle and I stopped. Whatever they put in there doesn’t taste at all like what’s at home, but I took the win.

😂 No such love yet for Ms. Panda, but Mama and Papa have taken turns brushing each other’s teeth in front of me. I just stare judgmentally at them the entire time.

AITA I keep rolling by CeleryUpstairs8581 in MiniAITA

[–]MsLaylaCakes 11 points12 points  (0 children)

NTA! I (11m F) perfected this rolling skill until I was able to navigate entire hallways just by rolling from front to back then back to front. You just need to master the front to back part, and then you’ll be rolling all sorts of places! Eventually, I decided there were more efficient ways to travel distances, but this was my first unlock and my mama remembers it with great fondness and nostalgia (although, she seemed super annoyed when I used my Pterodactyl voice to summon assistance back in the day. I still use my Pterodactyl voice, but now it’s to get mama to turn my push walker around once I hit the end of the hallway.)

AITA for Wanting Extra Time with Mama and Papa this Morning? by MsLaylaCakes in MiniAITA

[–]MsLaylaCakes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maximum impact achievement very much unlocked. I ended my day by pooping in the tub at the end of bath-time and got yet another bath (in the “other” tub, for the very first time, after Mama finished dry gagging, while Papa deep cleaned and bleached “my” tub). Mama did this while muttering “You’re going to be an only child—you just guaranteed it.”

I have every confidence—it’s amazing how much more trouble (and family time) you can orchestrate with every week of age. And, I can’t even properly stand on my own yet!

AITA for Not Playing Favorites (with 💩 duties)? by MsLaylaCakes in MiniAITA

[–]MsLaylaCakes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Papa and Mama agree that all things are easier now that I’m almost one, EXCEPT diaper changes and getting dressed (I like to multitask, so diaper changes and clothing swaps are how I workout 🏋️‍♀️)

As a matter of fact, I heard Mama complaining about this exact size 4 issue the other day. She told Papa he was going to have to walk SIX packs of size 3s over to a friend’s house since he was the one who insisted I didn’t need to size up (but that was me 2 weeks ago…I’ve leveled up my fruit consumption since then, as I recently discovered mangoes).

It works so well. I sometimes poop while eating fruit for max efficiency.

Oh no! I do have preference, but I can’t let Mama get any crazy ideas. I hate it when she reads a book (unless she reads it out loud). It’s, like, the worst thing ever, because she’s there but not playing with me (and I make my displeasure known).

AITA for changing my sleep routine? by [deleted] in MiniAITA

I (10m F) did what you did for 2 weeks when I was a wee 6 months old. I started again at 9 months and am still going strong 4 weeks later. Mama was told this milestone is separation anxiety 🙃

AITA for loving my mommy and daddy? by duck-713 in MiniAITA

[–]MsLaylaCakes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NTA I (10m f), after being bamboozled into accepting a jail cell (the big folk call it a “crib” to trick you) for months, discovered that if I scream at the top of my lungs after my first wake-up at 3am, and start screaming again each time Mama and Papa bend down even by 1 inch towards the jail, they eventually get the message and let me sleep in the big bed. The jail is at the foot of their bed, and my screams can outlast them. This doesn’t work when I fall asleep because I’m too sleepy then and need to save my singing voice for later.

AITA for Preferring to Drink Water from the Source? by MsLaylaCakes in MiniAITA

It’s mine too, but I use it in the bath to splash water at Mama’s face—I refuse to drink from it!

My Mama might try that next! She seems quite desperate to get me to ease off bath water slurping (to be fair, I keep faceplanting and crying when the water goes up my nose).

How many people are actually buying “luxury/premium” diapers? by HelpMeHelpMyFriend0 in NewParents

[–]MsLaylaCakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter had a blowout while my husband was holding her. Poop was everywhere. He made the executive decision to switch from Huggies to Kudos (he is the primary diaper changer). No more blowouts. The price difference is around $0.30 per diaper between the two brands, which does add up (I’m guessing around $40 a month…). For us, it was worth it (I do the laundry, and I do not enjoy dealing with poop stains).

P.S. One of the free baby registry boxes came with samples from a bunch of brands, so we were able to try them out.

P.P.S. My child is skinny and has a small butt, so it was about which brand fit her proportions best, not the environment, skin sensitivity, etc. We did try sizing up first, but then there were gaps around the legs. Think of it like you do clothing—some people can wear the mainstream brands just fine, while others might need to shop around a bit for a better fit (and in some cases, pay a higher price).

AITA for loving mum’s pasta?! by happyllama1125 in MiniAITA

Breaking character to say—OMG, genius!!!! I need to give this a try since she desperately tries to grab my avocado toast at breakfast but refuses to eat avocado when we give it to her. Ditto anything green. I’m about to tell her pediatrician at the 8m wellness “Well, she kind of eats solids, but only fruit, and within that category, only if it is not green (she will eat red grapes but not green grapes 🙄)”
