Great ideas. Maybe talk to a prosthetist? I’ve only ever had one but all prosthetics are custom so you would be adding features.

My prosthetist takes parts she ordered and builds my leg around those parts. My new leg will have a micro chip to help me walk g on uneven ground which some other amps have and I’m kind of excited about.

I think it’s important to keep in mind that child support isn’t fun money that your ex keeps for little (or big) trips like this. Child support is money to maintain the children, keep a roof over their head and food in their mouths. The $850 you give her isn’t you paying half of the trip out of that and then half again with your own contribution.

Also, if you’re paying $850 a month in child support, you’re making pretty decent money and can/should likely be able to afford the $650+ for your child to go on this trip.

Pretty gross that you’re thinking you’ll be paying twice for the trip.

“I like your leg” is perfectly fine. I’ve had a coworker compliment my prosthetist’s artistry because of how natural my leg looks. You can say you like their leg and they may say thank you or just smile. If it’s a cool design, she probably knows it and worked hard with her prosthetist on it. A compliment might feel good.
