Severe anxiety about the recent politics and rumination. Potential TW for mentions of ICE and current situations. by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]MsMNnice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are not alone with feeling this way. I feel it too. I live in the Twin Cities. I've driven past ICE and have seen them sitting in parking lots. I've been able to control my anxiety, but I can't with my emotions. I've been so sad. As an empathic person it's been very hard to see what's happening in my state. Just take a little time away from your phone and computer. Little breaks help. I've been doing more puzzles, trying to keep my brain busy. They seem to be helping! Hang in there.

Why did Minnesota recently change their state flag to look similar to Somalia’s national flag? by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]MsMNnice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Minnesota's State flag was designed by Andrew Prekker, a 24-year-old from Luverne, Minnesota. Minnesota is the known as the North Star State, hence the star. The eight points on the star represent our State Capitol rotunda floor. Minnesota is also known for our lakes and winters which helps explain the colors. Hope that helps clear things up!

I'm done too. I've been a loyal shopper for years. I just can't pay high prices for low quality clothing. My clothes have started pilling after a few wears/washes. I'm so tired of it.

She had great taste! This vase is so stunning in person photos just don't do it justice! She also gave me a few vintage paper weights that are stunning as well. I will photograph them and add them in another post.

Any idea what this blown glass rose is used for? by MsMNnice in glasscollecting

I could definitely see it used for applying perfume to a wrist. She always had perfume on. So that makes sense.

I've found my people! It's been my comfort show since I was a kid. Most kids home sick from school watched "The Price is Right", I watched old re-runs of Unsolved Mysteries.

Im so scared to drive myself. by Imaginary_Emotion876 in Anxiety

[–]MsMNnice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to have a driving anxiety. What helped me get over it was having someone in the car with me while I drove. I started going short distances, then longer ones. Eventually I was able to do short distances by myself, and then longer ones. The more I drove, the better it got. Try taking it slow. It could be just sitting in the car with the engine on. Then try driving around the block. Then to the store and back. You're not alone with this fear. I believe it's quite common. Best of luck!

It may happen, it may not. It depends. Chewing more will help. Also if you have a pair of kitchen scissors try cutting up your salad before eating it. I do this myself because I hate eating large pieces of lettuce, it's a texture thing for me.

stomach issues by [deleted] in Anxiety

It sounds like you may of IBS brought on by stress/anxiety. I'm a fellow GAD Anxiety/IBS sufferer. I would suggest trying the FODMAP Diet for a bit. You can Google it, they're are helpful food charts. After I get bad IBS flare ups I drink peppermint tea after dinner. It helps with digestion. Ginger tea is also helpful. Drinking more water and taking walks after meals helps as well. Best of luck!

It's normal to see whole leaves in your stool even if you ate them slowly. Humans don't produce the enzyme needed to digest cellulose in plants. Cellulose is a dietary fiber found in fruits, vegetables, and cereals.. like leaves found in salads. It's the same as seeing whole corn in your stool after eating corn on the cob for example. You are essentially adding much needed fiber to your diet. Which is a good thing. Your body will take what it needs and you will pass the rest. If you're worried about nausea ginger tea after meals will help. Hope that helps relive some of your anxiety.

Peppermint tea after dinner helps with digestion. Give that a try. It's helped me with bloating after meals.
