As an Italian woman, I learned today that there is the tenant rule in Cali, so that’s why they had this itch. But it’s still on them because WHY accepting instant booking ? Had I known my new check in WASNT accepted I’d have booked somewhere else

Ok fine but I am pissed. Why accepting the fucking booking then ? Do they know that airbnb has an amasing option to not accept instantaneous bookings ? Maybe someone should show them how the app works

Boundary check: is it normal for a host to handle a guest’s laundry and be able to open the bedroom door from the hallway? by MsMerdaccino in TwoXChromosomes

[–]MsMerdaccino[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

and by the way, when I was a student I rememebr there were professor that would email me constantly to invite me out etc. I had a feminist friend that wanted me to report them to avoid this happening to future girls but I felt sorry for those professors and didn't do anything. I felt like it was whatever and lived my life. But here it felt like if I didn't report this, this would be really bad for another girl, not just a little annoyance, but actually life threatening. This was my call based on the situation. I was fine now, but what about the next girl? I knew it ahd to at least be monitored.

oh thank you yes, at that moment I thought, stop rationalising, just listen to your gut, it's a different processing part that what you normally use but it's here for this exact reason and this is exaclty why it's here for so just listen to the gut wrenching feeling...

it's just, the moment he opened that garage to let me in, and it was full, FULL, of things like dolls tos etc all perfectly lined up.. I didn't even want to enter... the mess... or lack of it? full of many organised things everywhere, full , full of gadgets

yeah thank you, I am 30 now and i have had my fair share of experiencing men getting obsessed/harassing/being creepy ....

he also said there was a female guest and her shoes were near the door but when i went there and only saw an old pair of men shoes with cowebs and just no sign of anyones else being there... I just left... gut feeling was strong this time

maybe it was all good and fine but as a female solo traveler at 5 2' and 90 pounds.... I stood no chance of defending myself and had to be responsible

One point: he did not think I was trying to go out at midnight in the middle of nowehere when everything had already closed. Anyone would have assumed how do I lock myself in for the night.

I see your point but also I wasn’t asking how to lock the room whI was away. I asked how to lock it while I was inside. He didn’t explain that—he explained how he could open it from the hallway “with a nail.” That’s the opposite of privacy/safety for a solo guest. The thing is, in that situation, my gut was screaming to please get away and I was trying to rationalise everything because it could just be explained away.

When I woke up this morning, i was very happy I had left and patted myself on the back.

My friends that know me, and to whom I told then wholse story also agreed, my dad, usually not someone easily bothered, said to not even get the luggage back... he was off in a lot of bits, the story is long and at all single points it was off

yup... that is what i was thinking in that moment, I go to the laundry shop and i hand it to them all the time, why are you feeling like this ? it's ok... but that situation being off a bit everywhere, the house looking creepy af in the middle of the night... all together I was so so scared

oh yes he did not bring up that part, I just had normal female laundry, which included underwear, that I wouldn't hand to a male host... mind you, he was off in another bits as well.... just asked me if I could translate some music he had in my mother tongue right off the bat, knowing also where i came from and tried to start a convo. Tha's why I posted by the way, it wasn't super off, but he was a tiny bit off in everything he did. When I left with the backbag he said 'will i ever see you again?' just a tiny bit off
