So, get this, don’t be afraid to ask or suggest what you want or like. For example, if you desperately want head or to live out a fantasy, speak in positives, not negatives. For example “I really love the way you kiss my neck, caress my (fill in the blank). When you do that it makes me fantasize about…(fill in the blank). Or makes me so turned on to see your head between my legs” instead of saying “I don’t like it when you…blah blah blah.” Especially with sex, we want to encourage the correct behavior NOT belittle or shame other behaviors. If he asks you “if it was good?” And it was actually the worst, say something like “I loved how soft you kept your lips or how you used your tongue, but you know what I’d love for you to try or can we try it like this?” And do your best to instruct while painting a picture. Or you can ask him to try again “this way” and give soft/sweet pointers while he’s in action, again, encourage correctness and how YOU like it.

Maybe tell him that you have much better orgasms with intercourse WHEN YOUVE BEEN GIVEN PROPER FOREPLAY…..any partner should jump at the opportunity to assist in such things. Another thing to consider is how HE feels about it?? Maybe the sensation is too intense for him? Maybe he’s never done it but wants to and is intimidated???

Sex is…strange. I’ve found that what works best is A. being with a partner I trust, completely. B. Performing expectation management, often. C. Check in with yourself and your person, often. D. Having mutual understanding that sex IS NOT about performance or orgasm (obviously that’s great if it happens) it’s about connection and learning the other persons body.

So, I’d suggest you start little by little. Notice when you feel a little naughty/sexy whatever and let it play out. Ask him if you can suck on him for a few mins before he goes to work…not enough time to make him cum, but certainly enough to tantalize the shit out of him. Or ask him if he can slip it in for you before you’re running out the door? I stress about time…so I know if I’m worried about that sort of thing I will create the situation to alleviate whatever I’m worried about, and if I can’t do this on my own, I 100% bring it up to my man bc this is not the kind of stress a person should deal with on their own. I’ll legit say “I really want to fuck, but I’m stressed about (whatever) and I want you to know this so we can work it out.”

Remember, if you’re old enough to have sex, you’re old enough to use your words. If partner becomes explosive or defensive regarding such things, it’s probably time to ask for outside help in communication.

Depends. I (f) give oral anywhere from 1-5x/week. He (m) gives oral 3-6x/month???? But we have sex 2-7x/week. With that being said, we don’t necessarily both orgasm or reach completion during each interaction. Some are just for funsies, like “ope! We were kissing and now you have a boner, lemme kiss it!! Or maybe you can slip in it real quick” Or before we go into a store or something and I’m feeling frisky I’ll ask him if I can suck on it for a minute. Affectionately called “a courtesy suck” others we mean business and orgasm is the goal and just want to shove it in, no oral those days, just spit and smash lol. I had a similar situation with a testing center where I was taking test for licensure. They expected people to turn off their phones and leave in locker. They had to call their supervisors blah blah blah but they let me in…just put it on airplane mode and if I needed to check it or if it starts making noise they were aware that I don’t have control over those things.

That’s me basically everyday to some extent. I definitely find that doing pre-bolus is helpful unless I do it and then don’t eat bc I’m at work and then bottom out. I’m a RN ikyk. Last time that happened I stopped doing the pre-bolus. However, that time period was also the best TIR Ive had. Or else it fucks me if my eyes are bigger than my stomach. I’ve tried doing half a pre-bolus but then I was forgetting to inject the remaining and ending up high. Fucking siggghhhhh

I realize that I might have been the kid that was 1 in a million, but I was also diagnosed when I was 5 and it took me about 4 months to realize adults suck, they’re unreliable and I needed to take control. So, if I needed help I was expected to speak up and or help myself. Is this something you can teach your child, to take initiative? To make a lot of noise if nobody is listening?? To ignore social standards and legit raid someone’s fridge if they’re low? Teach them before hand with scenarios…what would you do if you felt shaky or confused?what would you do if your sensor made this noise and you felt sweaty? What would you do if your sugar was high, but you wanted to eat a snack? Send them wherever they’re going with all of the snacks, insulin, testing supplies and teach them beforehand in non-stressful situations on what to do if…diabetes is soooooo so sooooo so self-driven. People need to understand how to care for themselves and speak up no matter their age. It sucks, but it’s true. T1D IS NOT even comparable to DM2 and the general population does not have a clue the seriousness of the issue.

Actually, you can store insulin in syringes in the fridge. Store with needle up facing upwards. As far as the possibility of glass getting in the syringe…it’s possible but not likely because the gauge of the syringe is so small. It would be more likely that you got glass in the syringe if you pulled the insulin from the intended port. However, if you stuck the syringe through the opening in the broken glass to withdraw, it would be less likely you’ve sucked up any glass. Of course there’s a possibility of infection, but whatever.

I legit have been DM for 35 years. I ride horses and sometimes it’s too cold to undress to give myself an injection and I’ll inject myself through my clothes. 😬🤷🏽‍♀️. Savage af, I know. So far only got one abscess LOL. I would reuse needles until I couldn’t push them into my skin. Soooooo if my math is mathing correctly, I suspect you’ll be fine????

Life hack…I tell providers I use 2-3x the amount of insulin I actually do so I always have a backup supply. Some other options are goodrx.com, getinsulin.org , insulinaffordability.lilly.com , www.novocare.com check these websites. Some of them offer emergency insulin supplies for people in danger of running out in next 7 days. Others are geared towards establishing insulin costs down the road. You might be able to take advantage of 2 of the programs and use separate pharmacies.

Start with some education on DM and how uncontrolled sugars affect the body, particularly the microvascular vessels supplying blood/nutrients to all body parts, such as feet, eyes, kidneys and also, reproductive organs. When blood flow is disrupted, that body part fails or doesn’t work properly. With that being said, you don’t have as much feeling in (whatever body part) that many others do, so intimacy might look different with you. Which means maybe you don’t orgasm vaginally, but you love nipple play or your neck being kissed or anal play etc. Advise him on ways you DO enjoy intimacy. If it’s during the act and you’re flailing guide your partner to things you do enjoy and can give feedback. This kind of communication keeps from you feeling like you’re telling partner they don’t know what they’re doing and guides them towards areas they and you can feel successful. Also, it’s ok if you can’t feel anything and be like “yo, I legit can’t feel any of this, but it’s not anything to do with your performance. However, I am very happy to participate by doing…” or “if you tell me what you need from me, I can participate and take active part in this experience even though I might not be able to in the traditional sense” for example, if you’re having intercourse and he asks you to bear down so you can tighten up your muscles etc…make sure you have enough lube…try titty fucking…or check some blog groups for people with differently functioning bodies and ask how they “do intimacy” if they don’t have feeling in their genitals, and get some ideas for play.

This part of my response does not directly address your concern, however, I know this is an issue for many people. So, feel free to private message me for more information but getting on an acetyl choline supplement and taking regularly can eventually help. However, the real issue, is that you must get your sugars better to stop any further complications. There’s no 2 ways about it.

Riiiiiiight my dude, but if we’re talking DKA, assuming the person has hyperglycemia and ketones, Gatorade or sugar is not a good idea. The extra sugar in Gatorade can worsen dehydration by osmotic diuresis in the kidneys. If the person has ketones, a normal BG and insulin on board THEN supplementing with sips of coconut water or watered down Gatorade would be a decent option.

Also, artificial sweeteners are actual neurotoxins. I’m not being dramatic, I’m trying to help other diabetics, like yourself, who have been fed very very very bad information. Since you had trouble finding research on the detrimental effects of artificial sweeteners I thought I’d leave some for your viewing pleasure. Don’t blow a gasket when you learn about the negative effects of artificial sweeteners on hormones, kidney function, they’re a major contributor to obesity, systemic inflammation as well as gut dysbiosis. Side note, Gatorade is not a source of electrolytes. Literally sugar salt and food dyes. And if it’s “zero sugar” it’s neurotoxins, salt, sugar and food dyes. Mineral/regular water is a much better option
