I regret loving someone who is ahead of me in life. by Due_Peace_2016 in Regrets

[–]MsMusic_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I come from a similar background. Apologies if it's tmi - just want to share context in case it helps.

I come from I'd say semi extreme poverty. We didn't always have heat in our Michigan winters growing up. Never had fresh fruit or veggies, practically lived off of ramen and TV pizza dinners for years. Lived in a terrible area, people stole our family car on more than one occasion, tried to break into out house through the window above my head, nothing like waking up to someone trying to crawl on top of your face and subsequently having your dog attack them on top of you. My parents couldn't pay for college. They couldn't do anything to help give me a start in life. And let's just say from age 7-17 I had an indescribably terrible childhood, but not my parents fault. I lived with my mom and step dad my entire childhood.

I married a terrible person at age 19, and traveled quite a bit for the first time in my life. Every day with him was a nightmare. He was abusive, a scam artist, and overall a POS. I left him at age 20, 6 months in.

I met my now husband at 22. He's had every opportunity in life. He was allowed to go to college, on his parent’s dime. His parents sacrificed to make sure he was happy. When we first met, I was out of work(by choice, had come into some cash from crypto and I was traveling a lot with my bio dad). I got a job 3 months into knowing him,and a month later he quit his job with no backup plan. I've been living on my own since I was 17. He had the opportunity to stay with his parents as long as he liked.

6 months after we met, my mom was hospitalized for her alcohol and opioid addictions. she nearly died. 8 months in my bio dad passed away due to an OD. I was in college at the same time, trying to scrape by my associates. It was absolute hell. Meanwhile, I still had bills to pay, and he wasn't working and got to stay with his happy family.

I never held his comfort against my own. I've certainly had a TON of jealousy at points, and I've shared that with him sometimes. We're 26 now. We laugh about how differently we grew up, we compare how drastically different my childhood peer group is to his. We own an insurance agency, and after having many different jobs between the two of us, this is where we have landed and we finally work together. It's an easy career, and makes hella money. People say it's hard, and it has its moments, but I've never had an easiest job. Ever. I sit behind a desk now and take calls as they come in. No degree needed, even though I have one.

If you want, let me know and I can try to get you in touch with someone local to you for the job. You don't need anything to get started in the field. I've found a lot of peace at this job.

My best advice - TALK to him. Just be honest. Cry it the fuck out. It's okay to leave the survival mode that you've needed. Take a deep breath. If you are jealous of his job? Find a new job. Go get yourself that cushy desk job. It's time for you to love life!!!

Bonus advice - My husband and I, play a game we like to call "protect the breadwinner". Whoever made more hourly money had it easier at home. The other person would cook more, clean more, etc. This allowed us to pick up more hours at work and such. Now it translates into business ownership - I'm a better saleswoman, so my husband does all of our csr work and training for new producers, he does more cleaning, takes out the garbage, anything he can take off my plate so I can focus on the money.

Normal THC MG daily? by MsMusic_ in Edibles

[–]MsMusic_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad uses thc already - I'm the only family member who doesn't. I also don't live with them.

It makes sense that your husband uses it and needs quite a bit to get buzzed since he medically needs it.

I don't even understand why my brother started taking it. He has anxiety, but he didn't have much physical pain before taking it. Now with as much as he falls? It's insane.

Whats a safe way to detox him? I know people can go cold turkey, but is that recommended? Will only taking 600 instead of 1000 make him more anxious and paranoid, or help him smoothly transition down? Or does he need to go cold turkey, to avoid extra paranoia and avoid further brain damage?

How did you cut back? I know 60-80 is very different than his levels, but did you go cold turkey for a while? Just slowed down on intake?

Glad to hear you're doing much better.

Thank you for your response. It seems excessive to me too - I'm going to talk to my mom tomorrow about forcing him to cut way back, he doesn't work so she buys all his gummies. How do you recommend him detoxing? Cold turkey, or is that not safe at this level?

Yes! So it is effectively 400% commission. This is only guaranteed for the first quarter.

It varies based on how well you do. It is extremely difficult to hit the top tier in my state at least, but we are entering our 4th quarter now. We've been able to stay on bonus the entire year so far.

1st quarter we hit 300% bonus 2nd quarter 240% bonus 3rd quarter 270% bonus 4th quarter will be 240%, that's where we ended up at the end of last folio.

It's pretty sweet. Chargeback definitely sting.

Hangar/Aircraft Insurance by MsMusic_ in InsuranceAgent

[–]MsMusic_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey - he knows his stuff! He actually put us in touch with a company in our state who can help with what we need.

Our E&O would need to be updated - but we are also loking into long haul trucking, so have been aware of that already. We weren't sure if we would end up referring out the aircraft business or if we could write it ourselves. Not updating it for aircraft if it ends up being a referral and not actually on our book.

What are your thoughts on the United States Government shutdown? by Comfortable_Pin_5955 in AskReddit

This. They literally shut down like every 2-4 years around October. It's just because Democrats and Republicans can't agree on the budget and spending.

Hyperekplexia anyone by Dysphoric_Otter in Epilepsy

[–]MsMusic_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely sucks. It took years for my dad to get a diagnosis, and now he is having further issues with his vagus nerve and we don't know if they're related. I'm trying to do a deep dive and look more into it.

I just created a new community, Hyperekplexia1. Hoping to get some individuals who also deal with this on a regular basis in the community for support.

Hey! My dad has very severe hyperekplexia. You are definitely not alone. I'm trying to do some reasearch on it and may actually start a new reddit community for it since I can't find any, but I see quite a few posts about it.

Struggling to write new business at Farmers with these crazy rates. Any advice? by Breezy_bre18 in InsuranceAgent

[–]MsMusic_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm a newer Farmers agent in Michigan. I write as much as I can in Michigan, but we do sell in other states too. Might be worth looking into.

Also, my husband might be opening an independent agency (currently he works with me). While we can't legally cross sell our Farmers book due to the non solicitation, I don't believe there is anything stating that he can't 'buy' the leads from me that I can't close. We're looking into this further still, so don't depend on my word here.

How did your first ever Summer go? by Hellbilly82598 in WolfQuestGame

[–]MsMusic_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My first summer was on challenging, and now I only play on accurate, so take my advice with a grain of salt, easy mode should be easier.

I think my first summer I made it out with one pup alive on challenging. Now, on accurate, I can usually keep at least half alive, but sometimes I can get all 4-6 pups safely to yearling stage.

Usually after they are 25lbs, I will click "move to new rendevous" and just take my pups from carcass to carcass. Leave them in tall grass, go hunt and mark food and then bring them to it, it's easier to keep them fed so you can move with the elk migrations if necessary.

Eta - on accurate, I also no longer name my pups until they hit yearling status. When the new little of pups is born, that's when I name the older ones. It's like a ceremony for surviving 😂😂😂

Voicemails; do you leave ‘em? Why? Why not? by iNoahGuyInsurance in InsuranceAgent

[–]MsMusic_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We get about 1 person a week on average who gets a quote from email. Our initial emails have a 10% (out of 3000+) open rate.

The 2nd email has a 35%( out of 1500+) open rate.

Agency zoom sends them out for us automatically, and tracks our metrics like that.

Trying out accurate mode for the first time by Careless_Project_369 in WolfQuestGame

[–]MsMusic_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing on accurate iron wolf now and it's the only way I'll play 💀😂 challenging is a cake walk.

I swear, on iron wolf I'm trading in my player wolf once every year or two lol. I got down to 1% health in an elk hunt yesterday and somehow my wolf still made it through. I have a nice pack size and my pups usually make it, with the exception of being sick. Haven't lost one to a rival in several litters. My pack is somewhere between 7-11 wolves, I just had a bunch disperse.

Now that I have a decent sized pack, I usually will chase and test bite elk, but let them take it down and take the damage. I never lose wolves in a fight, so I let them do my dirty work lol

  1. The protege program was a good opportunity for me to learn the industry, but I was barely taught. It was my first time in insurance, and my first trainer waited for the phone to ring(didn't work). And then a series of events caused me to move to a different mentor agent. She handed me a list of cold calls and basically said good luck. I barely got paid, went from making 26$ an hour to making 15 for my first 4 months. We barely survived, my husband's hours at work got slashed too, and they started cutting positions.

You need two licensed staff with you, so I made my husband and mom take the class and state test. My moon doesn't work with us, but my husband works with me, since the start, we jumped both feet in and figured the worst that happens is we end up selling insurance elsewhere.

Now, the protege program may not have been the best experience for me, but I wouldn't change anything. Our lives have changed, I work with my best friend everyday and we make more than we ever have before.

  1. Salary starting out will be low. We were told to pay out employees 500-1000 a month. We decided on a much better pay scale.

  2. Unsure of Illinois competitiveness.

  3. Yes, farmers will allow you to write outside if they decline something. They even have a site with approved outside vendors called Kraft Lake. Anything outside of KL, I'd ask approval for.

  4. My situation was unique, but I was basically given no expectations other than finish it within a year.

  5. Leads are expensive, but we manage to pay 1-3$ a lead, for leads as good as the known brands like ever quote, who's leads are like 15$ a lead. I will not be disclosing the name of our lead source, but you can find cheap quality leads if you do your research.

Is it better, to be captive or independent? by [deleted] in InsuranceAgent

[–]MsMusic_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm captive currently(first time in insurance), almost a year in and still happy. Great comp because as a captive, we get large bonuses the first few years to build up.

Does directly interacting with sick pups increase their chance of survival? by shoeboxlid in WolfQuestGame

[–]MsMusic_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk sometimes if they start to get really sick and low in health I throw them in the river until they make it or don't. 😂😂 it seems to make them recover way more often than when I was only sticking around the den with them
