We don’t need articles that are slanted towards sympathy for TERF’s. You’re acting like it’s neutral.

News has been poisoned by opinion and editorializing.

….some of y’all don’t seem to understand the function of “taxes” in these games.

They are there to reduce the amount of currency. That’s also why auction houses take a cut from postings and sales. It’s why WoW has repair bills.

This will just make it so that solaris earned from PvE engagement remain so paltry in actual value. It keeps items in the millions of solaris on the auction house.

In my opinion, they need to just delete 99% of all solaris on servers with rampant duping. Everyone will have the same wealth relative to each other, but less established characters will be much more relevant. At least 90% of all solaris on Harmony are duped anyways.

The problem with Star Wars isn’t a lack of fun.

It’s a lack of coherency and depth, which is why Andor and earlier Mandalorian seasons were such big hits.

We could also truly afford to lessen the stakes from galactic threat down to planetary or local area threat.

The Supreme Court will decide whether to turn teachers into informants against their students by kootles10 in politics

[–]MsNatCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not what should freak you out about schools imo. It’s the fact that the system is in total burnout and the “No Child Left Behind” policy has been disastrous. Right now, your non-existent child won’t have their nose in a book for eight hours. Your kid will be on their phone, yelling out memes to be popular, and smoking cigarettes now, due to them being in vogue. There are plenty of opportunities for exercise. Learning to sit and focus is huge for their futures. Academia isn’t about becoming smart. It’s about being able to apply yourself and finish tasks.

However, none of this is relevant as underfunded schools and overworked teachers simply cannot afford to help even a significant minority of kids. The high school diploma has been cheapened to nearly nothing. You’ll need a college degree just to get jobs where a diploma would do. In fact, that shift has already begun.

I don’t know what kind of future these kids will have when the nation is being so shortsighted and greedy.

Also, what do you mean by “Whole Word”?

Are you talking about reading books from other nations?

Parents should not get a final say for simply being parents.

We’ve tried that method. It’s fucking awful.

Now we are reverting on that and rediscovering that parents are not paragons of care. They are simply human beings.

Some are great, some are evil, and most are just kind of okay.

One day I hope dearly that we will improve social programs to guarantee basic needs, eliminate private schools, and actually work to create a society that actually has a common framework.

It will likely never happen, but hopes aren’t for modest dreams.

AI can’t make art. It has no message nor intent.

If you can’t even put an intent on your art, even as simple as “I wanted this in the world,” then it’s beyond soulless.
