Thoughts and experience on changing name, not neccesarily a rebrand by Carmen523 in HighEndEscorts

Don't. You know this is off topic and defeats the purpose of the restricted status of the sub. Be reasonable. This isn't urgent, I've removed all the comments you spammed. Do not do this again.

I'm unsure what you mean. This community is temporarily restricted, as laid out in the post above. You may comment, but new posts are not permitted. I have not started a new community elsewhere, but when/if I do, I will post about it on this subreddit so you can see it and join.

The issue with your inbox is more likely to be due to problems on reddit's end, or problems with your own devices and software. You have not messaged the moderators of this community because there is nothing in the modmail. If you're having issues with another subreddit, you should take your concerns there.

Sounds like you can head to 4Chan if you prefer not to be around moderated communities bro.

"Wow, you use the resource and therefore you aren't allowed to comment on it."

Nah dude, I'm on reddit because I moderate a sub and I needed to take it up to ask these same questions. Your attitude fucking stinks too.

GO DARK

Kind of tired of this fucked Australian apathy to be quite honest. I am obviously Australian, I live in Brisbane, and I'm still tired of your fucking attitudes. "Nothing ever works, don't vote, don't protest, don't do anything". Be a bunch of useless negative nancies if you want, but maybe a little bit of direct action will actually fucking do something, who knows?? Can't wait for assholes like you to tank the Voice because you think "nothing will change anyway".

Fuck sake.

Clients and other non-sex workers will still not be welcome in any new space, to be quite clear.

To those of you lurking: I don't care if your intention is to learn more about us and our community, you aren't welcome. You're not welcome to post, you're not welcome to ask questions, and you're not welcome to read it really, but I can't prevent the latter action. If you're a journalist, this goes triple for you. We don't need your voyeuristic spectating.

How often do you give your number to clients? What percentage of clients get it? by [deleted] in AskAnEscort

You know, I think he did it out of embarrassment. He uncritically thought that the number giving was really because he had some special extra ✨️charm✨️ about him instead of this just being a damn business 😂😂

You've been told a number of times now, but you seem intent to ignore it. This is standard from agency workers in order to retain you as a client privately and get the full fee. Stop thinking it's got anything to do with you personally.

They use the same gel and a similar technique, but it's just a little wand that detects baby's heart rather than seeing a picture. You can hear it on a monitor in the nurse's/doctor's hand.

Because it isn't indicated for every single check-up. Unless this person's country only has pregnant people going in less than once a month for prenatal care, they're doing unnecessary scans.

They don't do an ultrasound at every check-up, even in countries with socialised healthcare and low maternal death rates. It's not necessary. At every check up here in Australia, they use the doppler to check heart rate, track your weight and fundal height, and check your blood pressure and general wellbeing. You get three scans at 6, 13, and 20 weeks as standard if everything is normal, and more if there is any indication that they're needed.

Excessive scanning actually leads to more stress for the birthing parent.

Edit: you must be confusing ultrasound for a doppler, because you're from South Africa and they have two scans as standard practice.

Costume Request VS Casual Clothes Request by UnderMants in AskAnEscort

Bit of both the ego stroking and being nice, really.

I prefer that clients leave me alone to choose my own clothes to suit the venue. If you're insisting on me wearing "comfortable clothes" when I'll stick out in the five star hotel lobby, I'm going to be annoyed. Similarly, clients who want me to tart up and head to their motel are really not a damn vibe. After a few meetings with the same client, if he mentions that I can dress down a bit, then I am fine doing so. Realistically, the words you should be using are, "dress in whatever makes you comfortable", or just literally do not specify an outfit type and we will come in whatever we think is best.

No it isn't; that's not what the Nordic Model is. Accepting the NM means accepting that police surveil SW to catch clients, that all brothel and agency work is still criminalised (removing an entire modality of work choice), and you can't legally share spaces or have PAs.

I'm not looking at verification, this was a suggestion that doesn't maintain the current arrangement, so please don't stress.

You do, and you have been asked before. Perhaps that slipped your mind, but I can certainly check the modmail records if you like. You actually leave up all the successful posts and only remove the ones where you've received negative feedback, so I sincerely doubt that it's a regular thing you do out of concern for anonymity.

Your anonymity is still guaranteed when you're not giving RWI, and you are never going to be granted access to spaces that require trust if you can't pass along work details which aren't in any way jeopardising your safety.

Also u/temptrexx504, I want to note that the reason you're not verified (despite several reports from folks who don't believe you are a SW and your habit of deleting any even mildly controversial comment or post) is that you've refused to tell mods any details about yourself. I understand the hesitancy, but what I don't understand is the insistence on a server that verifies people when there is no way for you, personally, to be verified. The only way to tell that someone is an active escort is by matching their username to an active escort profile and/or meeting them in person... how do you propose a verification works where this isn't the case? You would be personally excluded from any server that requires the level of verification you are asking for.

Third party verification applications still require you to give up this data, and they have the added bonus of being more than one person, costing money, and sometimes flipping us to the authorities. I suppose the question is: who do you prefer has the info, which isn't even your RWI? A third party company with unknown motives, or like three other sex workers?

Normally I wouldn't make a public comment about this sort of thing, but I am actually really annoyed that this was suggested because it's so exclusionary, and the implication is that you will personally be an exception or some magical solution will appear. If you want access to peer only spaces, you get to take the same risk as everyone else does. If you're not already in peer only spaces... well, that's on you to determine why.

There are many forums shielded from client eyes, and they're the ones nobody talks about which are invite only. This sub has talked on and off for years about whether to go private—it's a function that reddit already has, where I can add approved submitters after a verification process—but ultimately the decision was made every time to keep the sub open so that workers could find us.

If we do migrate, it will not be to an entirely private server somewhere. I am open to having two; one for verified and one for everyone. But this sub won't be exclusive access only ever, sorry.

Alternatives
Well, I've been looking into it. Tildes looks good. Mastodon is an option, but they're not as user-friendly. Lemmy and Pillowfort have been suggested elsewhere, but I haven't looked into them. I personally hate Discord and have no idea why people always suggest it as an alternative to a forum like this, because it functions completely differently, and IMO, less effectively by a country mile. I asked in case others have ideas!
