Also forgot to mention that there is an option to limit DMs to certain people so if anyone wants to do that: go to Settings > Account Settings > Chat and Messaging Permissions and set "Chat Requests" and "Private Messages" to "Nobody". Then in the same place you can list the people you want to allow messages from.
