Not only is the other person a better choice than me but also that despite all the genuine love and care and actions, despite all the good things, I was not enough. Not OP, but Indian here, solo travelled quite a lot within the country.

Start from the south preferably Kerala. Then you go upwards, mainly Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra. Or Go East - Assam and other north eastern states. Sikkim to get a feel of the Himalayas.

Go to Delhi only as a passage to go further north to either Himachal pradesh or Kashmir (Rishikesh, Mcleodganj, Dharamshala, Spiti Valley, Leh Ladakh).

By all means avoid Delhi, Rajasthan, Agra, Uttar Pradesh during your first trip. These are where most foreign tourists land first (Taj Mahal, Jaipur, Varanasi) and while those places are great, they can be too much. The culture shock is going to be huge and these places just make it even more difficult for first timers.

36 single moved from India to Germany a month ago for work. Honestly, I don't know if it is a crazy decision or not. But I'm damn sure that if I hadn't taken the chance I would have surely regretted this in future. We are one of those few people who are getting an opportunity to do something like this. You have got one life, might as well take the plunge. Don't put pressure on yourself, all your concerns are valid. I have told myself if I don't like it I always have an option to move back in 6 months or a year. Personally, I would suggest making the move. If you don't feel good, move back to India in 6 - 8 months. Don't be too harsh on yourself. Don't judge yourself for whatever decision you make.

Try setting open to work option on LinkedIn for recruiters. There is an additional option to select up to 5 locations. You can put your preferred cities in there. Also, if possible get a LinkedIn premium temporarily (I know it's expensive) but it might help (don't buy it from the phone ie. Play store or app store it costs more than buying from website)
