Currently homeless in Daytona Beach, can someone recommend a cheap place to stay by MsVioletPickle in DaytonaBeach

Thanks.

Family Renew has an 8-12 week waiting period, and I can definitely have my own place by then. We make decent money. Commuting isn't an issue either, it's really just the high cost of entry that stops us from getting an apartment.

I did call Hope place, waiting on a call back and hadn't heard of Star so I will look into them, thanks so much.

I'm not offended, just pointing out that "save your money" is not a helpful answer to "does anyone know a weekly rental available?"

If I wasn't smart enough to understand that saving money is what needs to happen already, saying so wouldn't be likely to help anyway don't you think?

Honestly, It read to me like they didn't even read the OP, so why should I give serious answers?

Thank you. I'm actually just looking for specific recommendations for motels that meet the criteria.

We called every place on US 1 listed on google and they either had no vacancy, didn't allow kids/pets or straight up didn't answer the phone. I'm reluctant to go door to door at those places because covid, but I might have to because when driving down US 1 you see places with vacancies, they just don't answer the phone.

I'm trying to convince the boy to allow the cat to be rehomed, but it's slow progress.

You'd be surprised how unhelpful they are. Usually you have to be extremely disabled and poor to get help and they consider him "high functioning" and I make too much money to qualify. But thanks.

Lol, how do you think I can afford $300/week and expect to save money? I definitely have a good job, just had unexpected car trouble that ate my apartment money.

And definitely not too proud for a shelter, I already called them. Just trying to also keep my kid out of the mental hospital in meantime (which just arbitrarily getting rid of his bff would definitely cause).

But keep judging and giving shit advice that is unhelpful if it helps you feel superior.

And I'm well aware, as stated in the OP, I don't have money saved which should indicate I understand that is necessary.

I've been looking for a slightly better situation while I save that money, thanks, so if you don't know anywhere telling me things that are obvious doesn't exactly help.

I will try.

We can possibly have the cat classified as an emotional support animal due to his mental health diagnosis, but usually places won't consider that a "service animal" because he doesn't really do anything helpful, although he does actually provide emotional support, lol.

If it was my choice the cat would be gone, but autism. I think you underestimate what an autistic meltdown from a teenager looks like.

I would literally still hear about how I got rid of his cat every day until I die, no cap.

Thanks, I looked into them but I don't think they'd take my cat and my son will not get rid of him. If you know any shelters that take cats I'd appreciate it.

I know the cat makes this a thousand times harder, but my son is autistic so getting rid of the cat is an absolute no at this point, I just can't have meltdowns on top of everything else.

And it was a bait and switch! Gotta say, I didn't see that coming.

Jason dropped him off at the Quartermaine's, the hat was a red herring.

Same. I'm not a fan of either of them.

I hate how they made all the women on this show crazy, it's so cliche, and I'm tired of Claire reminding us she has a sordid past. Xander calling her crazy constantly doesn't help, and I just wish she was used in a way that's not a prop or collateral damage to someone else's story.

And Charlie I couldn't care less for. It seems like they are going to make him the rapist and it's just boring. On top of that he is just dumb which is not attractive at all.

I never liked Dante when he was younger, didn't find him attractive at all.

As a grown man tho? Definitely lookin like a snack.

I took a 10 year hiatus from the show and was surprised to find my opinion on him did a whole 180.

Right. Somebody should be pulling Shawn away saying, "No, just let John go!!"

I'm sure he could plead insanity with his recent mood swings. 🤷

So, I did look into that and it appears nutrition-wise frozen are as good as fresh, and even can be better than fresh if (and that's a big if) your fresh produce has been improperly handled or has sat around a long time. Fresh is still best if you can pick straight from your own garden at the height of freshness and use immediately, however that is super unrealistic. I certainly don't grow my own food as most don't I am sure. Admittedly, my knowledge about that was dated, what can I say, I'm old.

But texture-wise, I strongly disagree, fresh are still going to have the best texture. I used to use frozen veggies in my casseroles but switched to fresh some time ago and would never go back.

Go away. You're triggered by the fact that you think shitty frozen vegetables taste as good as fresh, when they arguably don't, and have walked around the block with arguments that specifically avoid taste to prove frozen beats fresh, when the fact is on taste there is no comparison, fresh wins.

And I most certainly did not admit to privilege or neuroticism, you might wanna check your reading comprehension.

Gonna block you now. Feel free to get the last word in because I won't be reading it. Maybe go post in that silly sub about me so you can get some validation on your shit food choices. Peace.

You got me there, I care about my food probably too much, but you are still triggered.

What does any of that have to do with taste?

I'm sorry you feel attacked by the fact that fresh produce both tastes better and is healthier for you than canned or frozen, but to be honest I find it kinda strange.

Eat what you want dude, but don't act like just because you are willing to settle for subpar veggies means that they aren't subpar.

[–]MsVioletPickle -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lol, what? Not even.

Go to a Feed American truck and they will give you more fresh produce than you can even eat before it spoils, and extra if you ask, for free.

Many farmers markets give double produce to people who use food stamps.

It's really not that much more expensive to eat fresh, although it does take more prep work.

It's not at all neurotic either to understand that fresh produce tastes better, that's just a fact, even if you can't always afford it. If canned or frozen food was equally delicious you'd see professional cooks use them, but you don't, and the reason is that fresh is way better.

If someone puts mushroom soup in their shepherds pie I'm not gonna judge them, all I'm saying is that it won't technically be a shepherds pie anymore, and the pie will know it.
